Supervisor Laboratory

Job Description

Laredo Medical Center is looking for a Full-Time Laboratory Supervisor. This position performs laboratory collections and associated tasks in accordance with the job description.

Ensures Laredo Medical Center values are reflected in all aspects of the department's operation. The Supervisor reports to the Laboratory Director/Manager. There are no positions reporting directly to the Coordinator; however, frequently gives work direction to other co-workers.

Education:

• Required: Associate of Applied Sciences in Medical Laboratory Technology degree.

• Preferred: Baccalaureate degree in one of the biological sciences (biology, chemistry, etc).

Experience:

• Required: Two (2) years full-time experience in a bench technician/technologist position.

• Preferred: Experience as a laboratory generalist.

Licenses/Certificates:

• Required: Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent. Candidates without certification may be accepted for hiring, but the incumbent must achieve certification within 6 months or hire or forfeit employment.
