Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is one of the largest medical practices in New England with multiple locations throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island. Job Summary:
Responsible for managing designated operational unit to ensure superior customer service and patient care in a highly efficient and cost-effective manner. Oversees clinical operations, as well as the day to day operational activities supporting designated practice. Acts as point person for any and all practice related activities and issues. Able to analyze challenging clinical situations and problem solve and enact solutions.
Responsibilities:
Provides office-based nursing IV infusion therapy
Proficiently inserts Peripheral IV's, access or de-access chest ports, intramuscular injections, and venipuncture per protocol and INS standards.
Hanging and titrating chemotherapy, immunotherapies, and other infusible medications as ordered by office protocols.
Communicates with provider regarding patient needs, nursing assessments, and recommendations
Monitors employee performance and conducts effective performance evaluation sessions
Regularly documents issues, performs disciplinary/coaching sessions and keeps management apprised of significant personnel and operational issues
Participates in orientation of new staff and provides in-service training to new and existing staff as needed to promote compliance with standards
Implements changes and keeps staff up to date with clear and concise communications
Oversees all activities of the assigned operational practice - provides leadership and direction to direct reports and providers, and acts as positive role model
Perform other related duties as required
Education
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution
Experience
Three years of nursing experience in emergency room, critical care, or IV therapy
Licensure, Certification, Registration
Active CT Registered Nurse license
CPR Certification
Chemotherapy/ Immunotherapy Certification to be obtained within 2 years
