Position Title: Supervisor II Operations

Shift: 3rd shift

Location: Melbourne, FL

Overall Summary

Responsible for supervising an Operations team, ensuring cost, schedule, and quality goals are realized for an assigned area/product line/work cell

Primary & Essential Accountabilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of an assigned manufacturing area

  • Ensure product/service quality through proper utilization of resources and adherence to applicable standards

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's polices and applicable laws and regulations

  • Lead activities to resolve issues and problems, identifying root cause and effecting appropriate corrective action

  • Monitors and enables internal and external customer satisfaction

  • Drives continuous improvement through deployment of best practices, such as Lean Six Sigma

  • Maintain and continuously improve areas, which impact on Team Member safety

  • Hires, manages career development, and assesses performance of assigned team members

  • Assist in the development of budget and manages activities to accomplish financial objectives

  • May coordinates team member recruitment and selection, career development, and performance assessment

  • Identifies and assesses risks and deploys proactive mitigation plans

  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Secondary Accountabilities

  • Attend applicable internal or external customer meetings

  • Participate on special project teams

  • Support new product introduction activities

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years work experience

  • Associates degree in related discipline or equivalent experience

  • US cItizenship required

  • Proficient technical expertise with demonstrated application

  • Experience with Industrial Engineering concepts and 5S/6S techniques

  • Knowledge and familiarity with standards (ISO, AS, etc)

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills

The Supervisor position requires great attention to detail, trends, personnel and effectiveness of the department's ability to deliver superior results constantly reducing any negative impact by identifying and correcting avoidable errors and making sure that the delivery of task is timely. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES: The Supervisors immediate responsibilities include reviewing and submitting corrections on job descriptions to make sure that the descriptions are aligned with the expectations for the role intended; screens potential candidate; conduct interviews for new associates; monitor and analyze department quality and productivity; Identify trends and areas of improvement; establish goals and expectations; conduct performance evaluations; manage disciplinary actions; lead team to achieve common goals; acquire information to enhance and assist team in excelling; manage administrative tasks for associates; attend meetings to obtain knowledge on upcoming events and how they will impact the Operations department as well as assess effectiveness of strategies implemented. Engagement: The engagement expectation for this position is for the Supervisor to develop and maintain excellent communication with other impacting departments in order to align goals, expectations and resolutions. Perform all aspects of human resources including performance management for team, selection assessment, development, feedback, timekeeping, probationary/yearly evaluations, recognition and disciplinary actions. Continuously improve upon staff education, communication/support while maintaining a positive work environment for associates. Promote departmental participation to assure the operational departments are satisfied as measured by the Gallup Survey results 100% of associates evaluations completed with 30 days of anniversary date 100% = Does Well Below 100% = Needs Improvement Direct, train, coach, motivate, and mentor staff along with providing overall guidance and leadership to team members. Review daily, weekly and monthly reports to ensure top performers are identified and recognized Coordinates and manages team, sub team, associate meetings as needed to ensure that all members of the team are actively engaged and aware of their role and responsibilities. Performs monthly, annual and orientation reviews, coaching and counseling with associates to ensure that operational needs are met. Quality/No Harm: Supervisor has advanced knowledge of Federal, State, CMS guidelines, statutes, and regulations as they pertain to line of business. Develops new lines of business by confirming that the department is in compliance and adequately staffed. Ensures that department policy and procedures for existing and new lines of business are active and that all desktop processes exist and are current for all lines of business. Department is adequately equipped to handle the volume and needs of the business by aligning system applications and human resource with business needs. Identifies areas of risk and addresses issues to maintain compliance. Identify and address wide ranging quality issues (including applications issues and systems needs) The Supervisor of Operations will be expected to communicate with IS, Configurations, Sales, Customer Service and other areas as they pertain to developing and enhancing the work process necessary to align with the organizational needs. Ensures the section is meeting quality standards where appropriate Customer Experience: Supervisor of Operations will collaborate with internal and external customers in order to identify trends address department needs and assist with information that may be needed in order to meet organization needs. The Supervisor will also handle escalated phone calls with members, providers and vendors and provide resolution to difficult tasks and issues. Manages and resolves issues with business units including, but not limited to, claims, performance monitoring and reporting, third party liability, enrollment and financial services, and other functional areas as assigned. Identifies and monitor trends, and develops and implements resolution plans. Review daily inventory and staffing levels and makes assignments accordingly. Monitor, aged cases, trends to ensure adequate staffing and resources are available to ensure performance goals are met and maintained Ensures, measures and evaluates progress of initiatives against established operational goals / plans. Manages day-to-day operational or tactical activities. Identifies and understands customer drivers against available supply of resources (money, time, people). Anticipates obstacles that impact operational / project plans Ensures the section is meeting productivity standards where appropriate Stewardship: Fiscal responsibility includes constantly reviewing and identifying if the department processes are aligned with the business needs; monitoring associate work ethics, time use and educating the staff on attendance policies to maintain fiscal awareness. Maintain costs within the corporate budget through monitored utilization of controllable expenses. Monitor business level reports daily, weekly and monthly to ensure alignment of team with departmental opportunities Prioritize projects and issues, based on Plan need. Develop and implement tools for monitoring and evaluating performance objectives and compliance. Partners and supports leadership across the health plan on assigned projects ensuring company goals and initiatives are met. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor degree preferred or a minimum of 3 years' experience in Health Care. Strong knowledge of Federal, State, CMS guidelines, statutes, and regulations as they pertain to Health Insurance Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communications skills Strong interpersonal relationship skills Demonstrates ability to manage people, task and make decisions Advanced knowledge of medical benefits, medical and dental terminology Advanced knowledge of health care financing and health care delivery of various products including, but not limited to indemnity plans, HMO, POS and Medicare.
