Job Summary: Supervises the activities and personnel of the Hotel Housekeeping, Aroma Caf and Room Service, and the Hotel Valet departments on assigned shift.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • A minimum of four (4) years direct practical experience and /or training in a related area is highly preferred.

  • Prior supervisory experience in hotel housekeeping and/or hotel operations or related area is highly preferred.

  • Qualified candidates must possess good analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision making skills.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), coaching and leadership skills required.

  • Must have a professional appearance and be a team player.

Essential Functions:

  • Coaches direct reports in the pertinent skills of operations and administration. Promotes effective utilization of supplies, equipment and manpower. Ensures staffing levels are adequate to cover business demands.

  • Sets high personal standards for performance and encourages others to do the same.

  • Continually follows up and evaluates the status of daily work.

  • Maintains compliance with IGC regulations, internal control submissions and department policy and procedure.

  • Ensures customer service standards are exceeded at all times and all personnel are committed to excellence in the performance of their assigned duties.

  • Proactively recognizes, rewards and celebrates outstanding examples of employee performance. Is present and actively participates in buzz sessions.

  • Counsels, guides and instructs assigned personnel in the performance of their duties.

  • Serves as a role model to all employees at all time.

  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands:

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time (4 6 hours).

  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions, when handling guest and employee conflicts.

  • Responds to visual and aural cues.

  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.

  • Must have the manual dexterity to grab, grip, hold, sort, reach and tear. Must be able to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums.

  • Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, turn, push and pull. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs., and the ability to push 100 lbs with assistance.

  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights.

  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission.

Essential Functions: ¨ Ensures, through proper supervision, effective functioning of all Housekeeping support services, including but not limited to, linen delivery, supply delivery, amenity delivery, and retrieval of used linen and trash. ¨ Routinely inspects work areas, identifying cleaning needs, potential safety hazards, problems or repair needs, and reporting same to the proper person(s) for resolution. ¨ Coordinates with the Housekeeping Supervisor and Inventory Clerk to maintain appropriate equipment inventory, and ensure equipment is functional and in good working order. ¨ Maintains corridors and back-of-house areas, to ensure compliance with company policies and company standards of excellence. ¨ Ensures prompt maintenance and repair of Hotel equipment, by reporting all maintenance requests to the appropriate person in a timely manner. Any and all other duties as assigned. Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands: ¨ Must be able to work independently. ¨ Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, 6 – 8 hrs. ¨ Must be able to maneuver from floor to floor either by stairways (a minimum of 20 steps) or by elevator. ¨ Responds to visual and aural cues. ¨ Must be able to stoop, bend, twist, turn, push and pull, as well as lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs. ¨ Must have the manual dexterity to key in data, grab, grip, hold, tear, cut, sort and reach. ¨ Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights. ¨ Must be able to work a varied schedule, holidays and weekends as requested.
