Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Government Property, the Supervisor, Government Property will lead property coordinators and analysts in the day to day execution in a portion of the Hunt Valley, MD production operation.


  • Responsible for the leadership of a team of nonexempt property coordinators and analysts

  • Provide leadership to ensure safe work areas, environments, practices, and behaviors

  • Manage resources to optimize productivity and cost effectiveness

  • Leverage Sales and Operating Planning methodologies to optimize balance between demand and supply.

  • Ensure compliance and execution associated with the Quality Management Systems & Textron Government Property Procedures that include requirements based on FAR (Federal Acquisition Requirements)

  • Plans, organizes and assigns the workflow of the team and ensures that safety and quality standards are met and production schedules are achieved following Manufacturing / Quality established methods to include compliance with Government Property Procedures.

  • Instructs assigned personnel on processes, policies and procedures and coordinates with staff and designated support groups to resolve problems.

  • Plans, organizes and makes work assignments consistent with job classifications and employee ability.

  • Responsibilities include technical interpretation and compliance with prescribed Manufacturing / Quality / Test processes and procedures.

  • Provide a strong focus on developing talent throughout the organization


  • Bachelors degree in supply chain, engineering, or related field

  • Bias for action and quickly resolving difficult problems

  • Able to creatively achieve mission objectives while maintain compliance and the highest standards of quality

  • Variation Reduction and Waste Elimination skills. Green/Black Belt certification a plus.

  • Able to work autonomously, with limited direction

  • Excellent computer skills, especially with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, Excel)

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned) * Develops and maintains GFP policy, procedures, work instructions. * Receives, inspects and identifies customer/government furnished property. * Manages property issued in support of labs, production areas using multiple databases * Responsible for assuring customer/government property is properly identified and packaged. * Maintains records of materials received, disbursed and on hand. * Responsible for assuring inventory accuracy and record integrity. * Audits all physical inventories and monitors all inventory transactions and records. * Monitors property handling practices throughout the company to assure proper use and care of customer/government property. * Develop and implement data analysis tools/techniques to effectively determine the root cause of inventory discrepancies * Understand and execute tactical daily functions while identifying and addressing continuous improvement activities * Checks shipping documents of customer/government property for completeness and accuracy. * Assists internal and external customers with inventory verifications. * Maintains Government Property in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements. * May move material by hand and/or truck. * May be required to transport material between buildings. QUALIFICATIONS * Ability to work and drive change in a team environment * Ability to analyze data in multiple databases to research information * Displays effective oral and written communication skills * Requires basic knowledge of PC software including Microsoft office application, email, internet research (Familiarity with Oracle, COLTS, and eQuip a plus) * Practices good safety habits and maintains good housekeeping. * Performs other clerical or material handling duties as required. * Excellent problem-solving and decision-making * Highly organized and detail-oriented with good time management EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * Must have or must be eligible to obtain DOD Secret Clearance * High School diploma required. Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience preferred. * NPMA certification is credentials or willingness to prepare for and achieve certification in 1 year.
