Job Description:

REPORTS TO: Store Manager/Assistant Manager

OBJECTIVE:

To serve a dual function in the store, that of a Sales Associate, and that of a Supervisor. A Supervisor's priority is selling and customer service. The Supervisor will function as a key carrier (manager-in-charge) during designated shifts as part of the management schedule in the absence of another member of management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Associate:

  • Achieve store goals through superior customer service.

  • Always be professional, friendly, and courteous with a positive attitude.

  • Invite customers to:

o Open a private label credit card and become Premier Rewards Member

o Become a Club 50 Plus member (if applicable)

o Subscribe to Magazine offer

  • Greet/acknowledge each customer promptly as they enter the department in a friendly manner with a smile.

  • Interrupt store tasks to assist and answer questions for customers in a pleasant and courteous manner.

  • Suggest additional merchandise to customers on sales floor, at wrap stations, and in fitting rooms.

  • Follow-up on customers in fitting rooms to see if they need additional service.

  • Maintain the store and all wrap stations in a clean, neat, and organized manner.

  • Maintain merchandise presentation to company standards.

  • Complete all store tasks in an accurate and timely manner, including the following:

o POS/Sale Set-up prior to sale start date (to include signing)

o PCAs (price changes) completed by close of business on the effective date

o Transfers completed by close of business on the effective date

o Damages completed by close of business on the effective date

o Merchandise counts

o Key in telephone number and e-mail address when prompted at the POS

  • Ring the customer up in a prompt and efficient manner

  • Thank the customer by name and invite them to come back at the close of each sale

  • Follow all company policies and procedures

  • Practice Loss Prevention Standards at all times

  • Alert management of suspicious situations

  • Follow check approval procedures

  • Handle all returns/exchanges according to company policies/procedures

Supervisor:

  • Opening and closing the store

  • Protecting all company assets

  • Ensuring proper execution of all store operations and company programs

  • Ensuring the highest level of customer service and satisfaction

  • Maintaining company standards throughout the store

  • Ensure entire staff is working to achieve controllable goals

  • Delegate and follow-up when appropriate for understanding and ensure compliance

Works with design, engineering and production staff to ensure adherence to quality, timelines, scheduling and safety requirements. Supervises, mentors and trains department staff.<br /> As part of the plant leadership team, participates in the attainment of department and company goals and demonstrates Core Operating Values through work activities, actions, and behaviors.<br />  <br /> PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS <br /> (Listed in order of time-spent or importance) Includes the following, but not limited to:<br /> 1.          Manages and performs Tool Room and Die Service/Build Up activities which includes, builds, modifications, repairs, purchasing and vendor functions, scheduling, and preventive maintenance.<br /> 2.          Performs die build up and teardown activities. Repairs die cavities by welding and cutting back to print standards. Evaluates and replaces die components as necessary. Operates crane, welder, towmotor, grinders, lathes, mills, etc.<br /> 3.          Manages and schedules tool and die work.<br /> •           Coordinates with engineering and production staff to determine needs and priorities.<br /> •           Maintains tooling schedule for repairs.<br /> •           Establishes tool repair standards for time and labor. <br /> •           Makes recommendation of tool life based on repairs/cost to maintain tooling.<br /> 4.          Handles department administrative duties, including,<br /> •           Managing vendor outsourcing functions, including quotes, pricing, schedules, quality of work, etc.<br /> •           Ensuring vendors receive accurate prints and documentation of contracted work.<br /> •           Maintaining strong vendor relationships.<br /> •           Establishing purchase orders.<br /> •           Establishing Capital expenditures for tooling department. <br /> •           Managing and maintaining tooling work order system in Plex.<br /> •           Tracking all tooling life and makes recommendations for tooling replacement schedule.<br /> 5.          Maintains Tool Room equipment. Ensures proper care and maintenance of department equipment. Manages all routine servicing of machines.<br /> 6.          Monitors production problems and creates counter measures. Recommends and develops new processes and procedures and initiates/participates in their implementation.<br /> 7.          Ensures proper housekeeping and inventory of tools and materials. Develops and ensures safe practices are being followed related to tooling activities.<br /> 8.          Recommends department changes and new processes and procedures and participates in their implementation.<br /> 9.          Contributes to and supports the existence of a positive work environment through personal involvement by communicating, interacting, and behaving in a manner that promotes productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and others with whom such relationships are important to the success of company operations.<br /> 10.        Performs other duties as assigned.<br /> Supervisory Responsibilities<br /> 11.        Evaluates team performance, productivity and work standards, maintains/builds teamwork, handles staff development, and recommends coaching and disciplining team members to supervisor.<br /> 12.        Serves on the plant leadership team.<br />  <br /> JOB QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Certifications, Training, Experience<br />  <br /> Required:  High School/GED, 5+ years related work experience<br /> Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related degree, or Machine Shop Technology Certification and Tool and Die Journeyman’s card<br /> Experience with large die cast tooling<br />             <br /> KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (required, unless stated as preferred) <br /> Computer, Technical, Mechanical, Mathematical and/or Scientific Skills<br /> •           Proficient MS Word and Excel skills, and experience with tooling equipment software, Solidworks, and Adobe.<br /> •           Advanced knowledge of lathe, milling machine, grinding machines, drilling and sawing machines, computer numerical control (CNC) machines, and other common machine tools.         <br /> •           Advanced knowledge and understanding of die cast engineering, die cast processes and tooling.<br /> •           Ability to perform mathematical calculations required to complete all principle duties and assigned tasks, including algebra, trigonometry, ratios, and proportions.<br />  <br /> Communication Skills – Verbal, Written, Training, Presenting, etc.<br /> •           Proficient oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical procedures, and procedure manuals.
