Company Overview / Position Summary:
Come be a part of CPI Card Group, the principle provider of payment card production and related services. Our Colorado team is growing! The Front End Supervisor directs and coordinates activities of Collation, Lamination, and Fabrication departments in processing sheets and cards by performing the following duties personally, through subordinate supervisors, or production workers.
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations. Estimate work hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Check products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
Interprets job specifications and requirements to workers, and assigns duties.
Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards and production schedule.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Resolves worker complaints or submits unsettled complaints to Post Printing Manager for action.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
Performs activities of workers supervised.
Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
Ability to maintain a high accuracy rate on Plating
Able to create plating and silkscreen files that match the callouts on the print ticket.
Creates accurate silk screen film positives
Able to make corrections per press requests both litho plates and SS plates
Attends Art review meetings and or calls with the client upon request of pre-press manager or CSR
Performs machine maintenance per system requirements & schedule

The candidate must have good skills to operate technical machinery. The candidate must be able to interface with a PC. They must have minimal supervisory skills and training.
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school (studies in business, manufacturing, and/or quality); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers
Ability to add, subtract multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Good computer skills using graphic or digital image-based software and hardware and system filing formats such as Quark, Photoshop and Illustrator experience in a Macintosh environment. Prinergy, InDesign and Freehand experience a plus
Directly supervises 10 to 15 employees from Press, Collation, Lamination, and Punch Departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
