About the Position
The Fleet Supervisor oversees all activities surrounding the transportation and coordination of deliveries for liquid and powder manufacturing and packaging at the Evansville, IN customer site. This person carries out policies relating to the support of the fleet drivers, assigned dock warehouse associates, and other production support activities. The Supervisor will also ensure that the operation of the Fleet Shuttle/Spotter Service follows all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations for compliance during shuttle/spotter of all intrastate/interstate commerce.
Dispatch transportation of inbound stock deliveries with outbound production loads in the most efficient manner.
Dispatch transportation of deliveries for the customer's sites in Mt. Vernon and Evansville, IN.
Coordinate all transportation activities to ensure efficient, secure, and safe flow of drivers, dock personnel, products, and documents.
Follow all Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and all customer-specific programs and policies.
Perform clerical and operational functions to ensure compliance of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Submit monthly reports to Kenco and customer managers/stakeholders
Dispatch any Just-In Time shipments (JIT) per customer requirements.
Ensure proper tasks are completed on schedule and resources are available to meet production needs.
Submit monthly hub readings and other pertinent information as requested to representative of leased equipment on behalf of the customer.
Ensure that pertinent information is shared between all shifts of drivers.
Ensure that all drivers are wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices while operating at the customer sites.
Perform bi-annual and annual employee performance evaluations.
Review daily and weekly punch detail reports for drivers/spotters.
Address all employee related concerns and communicate information in a timely manner.
Complete accident/incident reports according to Kenco guidelines.
Acquire Level II certification for Site Fleet Safety Coordinator.
Acquire Hazmat Training to ensure compliance and coordination with Plant Support Operations Manager
tasks as assigned by the Plant Support Operations Manager.
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent years of experience required.
1-2 years of experience in a transportation/warehouse/manufacturing environment required; Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Hazmat and Safety experience preferred
Knowledge of Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations required.
Effective oral and written communication skills
Moderate computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and dispatching software
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Provide courteous and timely service to internal and external customers.
Effectively present information and respond to questions from individual or groups of managers or customers.
Manage multiple projects and meet specific goals and deadlines.
This position is expected to travel between the distribution and manufacturing sites (approximately 16 miles) on a general basis. Further travel may be required if training is offered offsite, but this will not be a regular occurrence
