Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency)
Three (3) years of directly related experience in crafts
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities
Technical knowledge of craft area required for the position
Must be able to pass the Dallas ISD random drug test
Must maintain a Texas Driver License and a driving record that meets District standards
Prioritize and assign tasks to be completed according to work orders, project requests, and emergency calls in accordance with any local and state codes and District policy
Demonstrate accountability in maintaining accurate records for labor and material costs, work order completion, and other maintenance records
Make periodic inspections of existing fencing and welding repairs
Coordinate work activities with other crafts and operating units
Ensure that safety regulations and safe work practices are observed
Supervise training of new employees
Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and vehicle as assigned daily; inform supervisor of any known problems with tools, equipment, and vehicle immediately, and provide documentation during inspection and/or inventory of tools, equipment and vehicle, as required
Assist in obtaining materials for the job using proper Dallas ISD purchasing procedures
Communicate effectively with principals, department heads, District staff and all other maintenance services personnel, contractors, and vendors in a professional manner in all phases necessary to locate, correct, repair, and complete each job or project
Must maintain grooming standards and dress code of the Dallas ISO and Maintenance Services Division
Performs employee performance evaluations
Comply with District policies and procedures
Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned
All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate
Salary Minimum: Salary Midpoint:
$24.41 Per Hour $29.77 Per Hour
Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines.
