The successful associate will supervise a manufacturing team of approximately six people. He or she will ensure that the shift maintains a high level of productivity while ensuring that our quality levels are met at all times. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

Training for this position will take place on day shift. Once training is complete this will be a night shift position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consistently inspects production to ensure the product is being run according to the specifications of the job; takes corrective action to resolve problems

  • Coordinates with other shifts and departments to provide quality product for our customers.

  • Maintains accurate production and quality control records on a daily basis.

  • Responsible for all shift production employees and equipment in the facility

  • Actively maintains a safe working environment to prevent accidents and injuries

  • Performs administrative duties such as associate counseling forms, vacation requests, and performance reviews.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Able to work independently

  • Detail-oriented possessing excellent organizational, time management, and follow up skills

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • Able to effectively analyze and interpret the shift and workload to maximize productivity and minimize scrap.

  • Computer literate with proficiency utilizing software products such as: MS Word, Excel and Email applications

  • Able to calculate amounts such as proportions, percentages, area and volume

Education and/or Experience:

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school and 5 years of supervisory experience; experience in plastics is a plus; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience in blown film extrusion preferred.

Reasoning Ability:

This associate must have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and be able to make decisions in accordance with established procedures and policies. Also the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills:

Computer literate with proficiency utilizing software products such as: MS Word, Excel, Internet browsers, Email applications and working within databases.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently is required to stand, walk, climb/descend steps; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; to talk and hear. The associate is often required to kneel, reach, push, pull, and bend; lift up to 75 lbs. and to utilize hoists.

Specific vision abilities required to this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety glasses are required. Safety gloves are required when handling hot plastic.

As a 24/7 Manufacturing operation, we are searching for a Maintenance Supervisor. We need someone that is capable of leading a team, ensuring that work is accomplished safely, efficiently, and effectively on equipment with a strong emphasis on safe work practices. This person will need to have experience with equipment and electronics such as: AC/DC drive and motor systems, tension and heat control systems, air compressors, chillers, grinders, water pumps, PLC/HMI controls, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulics experience. The position reports directly to the Director of Operations, but will communicate effectively with all departments to support the overall productivity of General Films, Inc. Primary Responsibilities: * Schedule Preventative Maintenance and Predictive analysis, as well as the repair of equipment that isn't working or isn't working properly. * Oversee outside contractors as needed * Ensure spare parts and preventative maintenance items are on hand and managed. * Train maintenance staff on maintenance items, and leads in a hands-on way. * Support and enforce facility safety systems. * Regularly communicates with equipment manufacturers, regulatory agencies, parts suppliers, production leads and managers to optimize plant performance. * Oversee equipment maintenance of all mechanical operations at the facility. * Order repair parts as needed for maintenance projects or breakdowns. * Maintain up-to-date critical parts inventory. * Responsible for coordinating/completing contracted and in-house electrical repairs and upgrades, including those related to plant controls * Actively research potential upgrades and fine-tuning of the existing plant to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency availability and reporting * Work closely with vendors to meet deadlines and complete capital improvement projects * Follow all safety guidelines regulated by OSHA, or other regulatory agencies. * Assists in improving the process and quality of existing or new equipment. Takes part in the pre-acceptance and acceptance of new machinery as needed. * Must be flexible to work any shift, overtime and weekends as needed. Requirements and Skills: * General knowledge of advanced mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic skills. * Candidate must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills, as well as initiative and the ability to delegate decision making and other responsibilities. * Able to handle multiple time sensitive projects and issues. Must work well under pressure. * Service oriented and possessing a high level of integrity and quality output * Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word & Excel * Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical procedure manuals or governmental regulations. * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from members of management. * Ability to read metric drawings, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic diagrams Educational/Experience Requirements * At least 5 years of Supervisory experience is required * At least 3 years of Maintenance experience in Blown Film Extrusion experience is preferred or a least similar type of Manufacturing is highly desired. For Example: injection molding, extrusion, compounding, recycling, blow molding, thermoforming or a continuous process like paper, roofing; or other heavy industrial maintenance experience. * Strong knowledge of maintaining manufacturing equipment such as extruders, motors, drives, air compressors, chillers, grinders, water pumps, PLC/HMI controls, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulics experience. * Direct involvement with safety systems as it relates to maintenance (supervision), such as LOTO General Films, Inc Covington OH
