The Supervisor manages a grounds crew and janitorial crew by prioritizing projects, assigning work tasks, monitoring work quality and work schedules. Accountable for the completion of assigned landscaping and janitorial duties.
Develops and trains employees to ensure the scope of work is completed to company standards and contractual obligations. Interacts positively with facility members/staff and responds to requests for contract related matters. Maintains constant monitoring to ensure grounds/facilities are maintained to company standard and crew safety.
Assist Project Manager in scheduling and training staff as needed.
Provide additional work direction and assistance to grounds/janitorial crew.
Complete all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintain assigned areas and equipment.
Cut/Mow lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
Remove stumps, fills holes, and applies grass seed as needed.
Remove all landscaping debris.
Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping.
Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.
Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer.
Use cleaning equipment, including automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment, tools, chemicals and supplies.
Dry and wet mop floors, scrub and buff floors with rotor and other machines, vacuum carpets to clean and control bacteria, transport trash from utility rooms and other collection points.
Routine Heavy Cleaning.
Perform special cleaning of induction units, walls, lighting fixtures, and windows, both inside and outside, move furniture and set up meeting rooms.
Identify safety hazards and abide by safety rules.
Document inspections and other maintenance activities.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Knowledge of tools, equipment, techniques, skills, materials, and methods of landscaping/janitorial work.
Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
Ability to operate or learn to operate riding mower, weed eater, grass edger, chain saw, stump grinder, hedge trimmer, leaf blower, wood chipper, lift, pressure washer, and other basic hand and power tools.
The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms and/or legs.
The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
The ability to lift between 25-50 lbs.
The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time in inclement weather.
Ability to work in safe and efficient manner.
