Individual will plan, schedule, coordinate, and supervise the activities of the Transmission Line Mechanics engaged in the inspection, maintenance, rebuilding, and construction of the electric Transmission system. Experience with union contracts a plus.
Individual will coordinate, request and hold clearances for assigned crews, and be responsible for emergency restoration of transmission lines; and ensure that all work is performed safely, on schedule, cost effectively, and in accordance with company standards. Individual will coordinate maintenance and construction of assigned Transmission assets by making arrangements for staffing, materials and equipment and plans outage schedules for assigned projects. Individual will also direct efforts to achieve world-class excellence regarding safe work practices and safety performance and assures compliance with the Employee Safety and Health Handbook, OSHA, and all company procedures.
The selected candidate will also be responsible for the analysis of maintenance data and its accurate input directly into Cascade for Transmission equipment; and be responsible for the reliability and condition of transmission line assets under his/her jurisdiction. Participate in on-call assignments as required.
A Baccalaureate degree or the equivalent education/experience required.
Five years of related experience required. Supervisory experience, transmission overhead, and a detailed understanding of underground transmission systems preferred.
A thorough knowledge of transmission line construction methods and procedures, switching and tagging, and the ability to read and understand technical manuals, specifications, and drawings for transmission lines required. Individual must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
