POSITION OVERVIEW

The Supervisor, Distribution and Logistics reports directly to the Distribution and Logistics Manager and will work directly with Operations, SCM, Suppliers and Service Providers to manage and lead, day-to-day interfaces and processes for inventory management, warehouse operations and logistics, to support and ensure on-time delivery, material availability, cost optimization, demand and supply execution, considering supply chain disruptions and risk mitigation, across Company's facilities.

The Supervisor, Distribution and Logistics will be responsible for leveraging relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and partners to implement opportunities to optimize operations, improve customer service, increase productivity, drive data accuracy, and minimize operative cost. This critical role is accountable for holding SCM performance standards and develop strategies in support of the inventory management, warehouse operations and logistics for the operations and maintenance of LNG terminals and Pipeline facilities.

KNOWLEDGE

  • In-depth knowledge of all processes and capabilities to manage inventory and warehouse operations processes for complex materials and services used in the construction, maintenance, and operation of energy industry.

  • Solid background leading warehouse operations and distribution centers, inventory control and execution, and movement of critical material, consumables, and equipment.

  • Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) administration/management.

  • Significant knowledge of risk management, supply disruption, market intelligence and predictive analytics in support of recommendations to secure supply and drive continuous improvement.

  • Understanding of plant operations, transportation, logistics, storage, and processing including safety and security, maintenance, operations, governmental regulations and associated codes and standards. Knowledge of plant maintenance schedules, demand, and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Develop and implement quality assurance and control procedures to meet customer service expectations.

  • Responsible for the development, implementation and sustain of logistic strategy.

  • Work closely and interface with other SCM teams/groups to understand and ensure projects and materials are delivered to scope, on schedule, and within budget while complying with SCM and capital project's procedures and policies.

  • Analyze and leverage monthly Key Performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement productivity initiatives. Continuously evaluate deficiencies in controls, processes, and procedures and develop solutions and best practices.

  • Develop actions to comply with performance metrics, efficiency targets, budget targets, inventory financial reconciliation, and audit compliance.

  • Develop and implement future inventory management and warehouse operations process capabilities including logistics capital planning.

  • Accountable for inventory item master data integrity and accuracy, inventory discrepancy analysis and resolution.

  • Manage logistics and freight forwarding annual budget, including invoice review, approval, and reconciliation.

  • Responsible for development, implementation, sustain and track of cost savings and value creation projects.

  • Develop strategies in areas of efficiencies/innovation.

  • Support development of strategic plans for inventory management and distribution. Forecast capacity requirements and develop distribution and logistics plans to execute in compliance with service level commitments.

  • Serve as designated Cheniere FTZ Authorized Representative (as required), which will require a United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) background check. Provide support during CBP audits.

  • Analyze, model and present market intelligence and supply disruption data, to perform advance predictive analysis, development, and implementation of risk management programs to ensure security of supply.

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationship with Suppliers and Service Providers' responsible for the execution of the work.

  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills to understand/foresee financial and service implications. Ability to understand broad picture and implications to supply chain operations.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS)

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in SCM, Logistics, Accounting, Engineering, or related business preferred.

Experience:

  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of combined experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, and logistic processes, preferably within operations in the LNG or oil and gas industry. Experience in demand planning, inventory analysis, logistics, traffic, and shipping (both international and domestic) are required. Background in distribution centers' operations preferable.

Skills:

  • Understanding of plant operations, transportation, logistics, storage, and processing including safety and security, maintenance operations, demand planning, governmental regulations, and associated codes, and standards.

  • Previous experience supervising/leading personnel.

  • Ability to work self-directed, independently, and with a proactive approach.

  • Exceptional problem-solving. Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data, identify issues/opportunities, recommend and implement solutions.

  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and build relationships to achieve results.

  • Detailed oriented, organized, and able to complete multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Computer savvy, including but not limited to: Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Inventory Management, Oracle, Maximo, PowerBI, Tableu, and Microsoft Office.

Requires minimum supervision/guidance. Must also use sound judgment and make good decisions.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, work at height above ground on stairs and catwalks, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear, smell, type and write.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors and outdoors. Occasionally may be exposed to year around weather conditions.

  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal and internal regulations.

  • Responsibilities must be met in a call-out environment, including holidays, weekends, and nights.

  • Forklift operation certification is required and shall be maintained valid for the support of the warehouse operations.

  • Frequent travel to support other facilities and meet with business customers, will be required.
