Job Summary:

The Supervisor - Development will be responsible for a team of developers who will code, test, and support websites and internal business applications as needed. He/She will work with other programmers and analysts, as well as customers throughout INTRUST to define processes, business, requirements, and recommend solutions for small to large-scale projects. Responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of initiatives and projects to support the organization. Establishes work processes for direct reports and ensures a high level customer service is delivered and promotes and fosters teamwork across all areas of INTRUST. Responsible for the development and management of direct reports. Represents INTRUST Bank in all he or she does in the community, and is focused on the development of new business relationships. Must maintain strict standards of confidentiality, and perform duties in a manner supporting INTRUST's Character Qualities.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages development team(s) that create and support complex, applications (both customer facing and internal) to support organizational requirements

  • Provides technical leadership for development and application maintenance teams to ensure best practices and standards are followed to ensure application consistency and ease of use.

  • Responsible for all phases of the web software development lifecycle, including design, programming, testing (unit and system level), debugging, and internal documentation.

  • Responsible for developing upgrade plans for departmental applications, and ensures the efficient and cost effective resolution of maintenance, operations, and support issues.

  • Remains aware of new developments in web applications, Internet and Intranet and related technologies.

  • Works with others to understand business needs, product requirements, and job specifications to program new functionality, features, and products.

  • Proposes and modifies application development methodologies, as well as employing the appropriate methods for new development projects.

  • Responsible for the selection, retention, coaching, performance management and development of direct reports.

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in designing and developing client/server software products with at least 2-3 years in a Senior Developer type role.

  • Experience in developing applications using Microsoft based technologies C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • 5+ years of experience with C#, ASP.NET, SQL, HTML, CSS.

  • 5+ Expertise and skill in developing complex web applications utilizing the following database technologies: Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL.

  • Knowledge of and skill in web application usability concepts, and proven expertise in applying them in complex applications, including mobile applications.

  • Expertise and skill in applying Internet security design standards, knowledge of critical web application security vulnerabilities, demonstrated expertise in designing and developing highly secure web applications, including those with e-Commerce functionality.

  • Expertise and proven skill in architecting web applications, with strong knowledge of Internet server operations, database storage technologies.

  • Strong technical leadership and project management skills.

  • Strong object oriented design and development skills.

  • Must possess good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team members

  • SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Integration Services.

  • Knowledge of federal/state affirmative action and equal employment laws/regulations.

Physical Demands: Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. Some bending and kneeling when installing computers and cabling.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment.

The Taxpayer Advocate Service is an independent organization within the IRS. The TAS mission is to assist taxpayers in resolving their problems with the IRS (Case Advocacy), and to identify and propose administrative and legislative solutions to mitigate those problems (Systemic Advocacy). WHAT IS THE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (LDP)? The Intake Advocate Leadership Development Program offers structured leadership training and developmental assignment. During the eighteen (18) month program, all participants will attend a pre-classroom orientation, complete Career Learning Plan, ELMS, other online courses and attend leadership-training classes (virtually and/or face-to-face budget permitting). Additionally, candidates may be assigned a mentor, participate in a shadow assignment and possibly a managerial developmental assignment. As a Participant in the LDP you will: * Remain in your current position and post of duty. * Participate in an 18-month training and development program that may include shadowing or acting assignments and a variety of developmental activities. While on developmental assignments, you may: * Instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques and makes available written instructions, reference material, and supplies. * Maintain knowledge of work in the organization and answers questions for employees on procedures, policies, directives, etc. * Assist in planning work methods and making day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities to meet deadlines. * Distribute and balance the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization and assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload. * Check work in progress and reviews completed work to ensure that supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines are met. * Give feedback on performance, progress, training needs, and disciplinary problems of employees. * Provide for and administers on-the-job training for newly-assigned employees; assists lower-grade employees on more difficult work. * Prepare and assists in disseminating new or revised operating and/or administrative procedures or training material and conducts classroom training as appropriate. * Resolve simple, informal complaints of employees.
