The Supervisor, Commercial Credit provides supervision to the commercial credit and final bills staff. Responsible for minimizing the company's bad debt write-offs through efficient management of commercial customer accounts. Directs Commercial Credit personnel in collection of delinquent commercial accounts, negotiation of security deposit requirements and processing of bankruptcy claims. Develops and maintains performance metrics related to both financial and operational performance. Provides direction to Customer Service business unit departments for compliance with ACC Rules and Regulations and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Monitors industry and economic trends that could impact commercial credit worthiness.
BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration and five (5) years related credit, financial, or business experience. In lieu of degree, a combination of education and experience totaling nine (9) years in credit, finance, accounting, and/or business.
Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential and existing customers by reviewing available financial data and perform risk assessments.
Ensure acceptable levels of delinquencies and minimize bad debt write-offs by directing credit staff in the collection or disconnection of high-risk accounts and by identifying potential high-risk commercial customers.
Reduce company's exposure by ensuring adherence to collection procedures and securing or re-securing accounts when delinquencies occur. May need to work with commercial customer's accountants and CFO to discuss the account and customer's financial status as well as the best way to secure the account.
Provides aggregate delinquency data, credit history and shutoff recommendations based on operational norms to internal legal counsel, media relations, and various levels of management statewide on high profile residential and/or commercial customers.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations (Federal, State and local) by maintaining thorough knowledge and providing leadership and training to employees in content and revision of laws, rules and regulations.
Selects and develops a high performing team through effective staffing, coaching, performance feedback, compensation administration, recognition, training and developmental opportunities.
Monitor and communicate industry and economic trends that could impact commercial credit worthiness to management
Provide direction to staff in design, development, tracking, presentation, and communication of the Commercial Credit and Final Bills performance metrics related to financial and operational performance.
Assist the Business Line, Marketing, Bulk Power, State Region Offices, Customer Construction, Engineering and Economic Development personnel in the financial analysis of new commercial customers.
Represent APS's interests in dealing with outside stakeholder including, but not limited to, commercial customers and collection agencies.
Drive continuous improvement throughout the Revenue Operations organization and incorporate continuous improvement practices into business unit partnerships.
