Overview

This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation for all payments. This position is responsible for supporting, overseeing and managing performance and productivity of their assigned project along with providing continual feedback and guidance to the team. This supervisor acts as the recipient of all escalated and trended issues and is responsible for resolving and/or taking appropriate action on all escalated issues.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and assists with process improvement initiatives throughout assigned projects to reduce manual posting and increase quality.

  • Provides leadership and development to on-site and remote colleagues.

  • Meets client's expectations and align with goal and metrics within the statement of work.

  • Conducts and review's productivity and quality metrics that align with nThrive organizational goals.

  • Develops and implements an effective plan to reduce unidentified amounts and continuously look for improvements within this process.

  • Monitor's EFT, Lockbox, Credit Cards and POS payment variances and escalates issues as necessary.

  • Implement processes that reduces the amount of payment research and ERA exception volumes.

  • Analyze, interpret and communicate complex issues and recommendations.

  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to ensure department success..

  • Maintains the confidentiality, security and integrity for the management of associates/patient information according the specific product information and hospital policies and procedures.

  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures in accordance with standard banking practices.

  • Provide and develop cumulative reports on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, as required and other reports as assigned to track productivity and performance.

  • Supports nThrive's Compliance Program by adhering to policies and procedures pertaining to HIPAA, FDCPA, FCRA, and other laws applicable to nThrive's business practices. This includes: becoming familiar with nThrive's Code of Ethics, attending training as required, notifying management or nThrive's Helpline when there is a compliance concern or incident, HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information, and demonstrable awareness of confidentiality obligations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • At least 3+ years' experience in healthcare insurance accounts receivable operations working with or for a hospital/hospital system with more than 250 beds, working directly with government or commercial insurance payers.

  • At least six months of experience coaching, mentoring, supporting or supervising other colleagues

  • Proven history in process improvement and automation.

  • Proven knowledge of hospital reconciliation, banking practices and payer payment issues.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work in a team environment that requires a quick turnaround and quality output in order to achieve desired goals and objectives

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office, including the ability to input and sort data in Microsoft Excel and use company email and calendar tools.

  • Demonstrated success working both individually and in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with payers, understanding complex information and accurately documenting the encounter.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet performance objectives.

Preferred Skills

  • 2 + years' experience in cash application.

  • Associates degree.
