Supervisor Asset Management

The copywriters Supervisor of the Mattel Creative Services e-commerce copy team:

  • Supervises asset creation for:

  • consumer-facing copy for e-comm product detail pages for all Mattel brand SKUs (basic, deluxe, enhanced, call-outs)

  • sales quoting copy for all Mattel brand SKUs

  • YouTube video descriptions for all Mattel and some Fisher-Price brands

  • catalog copy for all Mattel, Fisher-Price, Mega and RoseArt brands

  • copy for web site pages and special projects for all Mattel brands, as requested

  • Develops SEO strategy:

  • Conducts research via external sources to maintain up-to-date search strategies and formats

  • Works with internal departments, such as customer marketing and research/analytics, to refine and communicate processes and strategy

  • Ensures copywriting team is trained on latest SEO methods and tools

  • Manages asset development and distribution:

  • Monitors, analyzes and reports metrics, schedules and workflow to guide on-time delivery of digital copy assets and communicates progress

  • Develops standards and guidelines to improve quality of digital copy assets, including best practices for SEO, naming, templates and content, working with other related departments when beneficial

  • Develops solutions for delays and communicates potential impact to teams

  • Develops internal and external processes to streamline production and distribution of digital copy assets, including technology, workflow and creative solutions, working with other related departments when beneficial

  • Builds, allocates and supports team resources, including 6 senior copywriters and 1 copy coordinator:

  • Assigns brands and projects among team members to maximize experience and time

  • Creates onboarding processes and materials; trains new team members; participates in interview process

  • Monitors team hours and assists with tech and other challenges when appropriate

  • Liaises with other departments including:

  • Brand Marketing

  • Product Marketing

  • Packaging

  • Digital Marketing

  • Customer Marketing

  • International Marketing/Translation

  • Data Control

  • Analytics

  • Photo

  • Video/YouTube

  • Handles assigned brands as senior copywriter

Experience, Education & Skills


  • Ability to organize and project-manage a heavy and consistent workload while performing under pressure

  • Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish set goals and schedules

  • Ability to work under limited supervision with a wide degree of creativity and independent thinking

  • Ability to multi-task, adjust quickly, organize and re-prioritize

  • Ability to balance creative excellence vs. project efficiency

  • Ability to give and take creative direction


  • 8+ years experience professional writing for: online/digital, print advertising (consumer and trade), consumer products, branding/style guides, naming, etc.

  • Conceptual and creative thinker

  • Ability to problem solve

  • Detailed proofreading skills

  • Experience in kid-related content and packaging

  • Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Ability to utilize Mattel systems and operate within them

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams

  • Advertising agency experience is preferred


B.A., B.S., or BFA in Marketing Communications, Advertising or related field

Description: The Software Asset Management Team within SAS IT Business Management is responsible for the management of software assets and compliance. The role of the Software Asset Management Analyst is to assist with the management of the Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) lifecycle system and processes, and to effectively maintain the software license compliance and tracking program. The candidate for this position will be performing a variety of SAS Information Technology Software Asset Management tasks and key function which include and are not limited to: * Validate, vet, track, review, manage, and fulfill all requests for software licenses and requests following established workflows and standards processes against current license inventory. * Update and maintain software asset records, including procurement data, contract terms, hardware asset info, software licensing, maintenance schedule, and disposal records. * Receive and catalog new software assets and media. * Prepare software purchase requests. * Assist in analysis of data integrity with Asset Management databases and software management tools. * Provide insight for renewal activities related to utilization analysis. * Provide guidance and education to end user community in relation to software license compliance. * Perform self-compliance audits through software utilization metering, entitlement reconciliation, and unauthorized software discovery.
