Supervisor #2 PM Operations - Evadale, TX1913 FM 105 SEvadale, Texas, 77615United States Opportunity summary: As the Supervisor #2 PM Operations, you are responsible for leading and managing the daily shift at the paper mill, including finishing and stock preparation, safety, quality, production costs, environmental waste control and employee relations.
How you will impact WestRock: Ensure daily production and maintenance targets and delivery schedules are met in compliance with manufacturing deadlines by allocating personnel, setting up the equipment, re-working parts and personally supporting the troubleshooting efforts Maintain staff planning and alter schedules to adapt to unforeseen conditions and maximize productivity Ensure reliable employee performance and compliance with environmental, safety, production and quality requirements Lead pre-shift safety meetings and monthly safety training meetings to prevent injuries, eliminate hazards, improve housekeeping and comply with all applicable regulations and mill policies Resolve customer issues and identify preventative solutions Maintain quality and environmental parameters within prescribed limits, basing decisions on operating conditions and trends Oversee workforce planning through assigning and directing work, conducting employee performance reviews and coaching employees to achieve developmental goals Troubleshoot quality specifications and understand key drivers required to meet the quality specifications of product What you need to succeed: High School diploma or G.E.D. with equivalent years of experience Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in the Paper, Converting or Corrugated industries and 10 years of relevant paper machine experience Basic knowledge of in line coater operations is preferred Demonstrated working knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement Demonstrated effective process management skills Knowledge of machinery and how to identify issues and troubleshoot equipment Ability to effectively communicate verbally or written cross-functionally to employees or to customers Ability to coach and train employees Ability to be an on-shift resource for troubleshooting problems in the process as well as maintenance issues Possess ability strong leadership skills to coach and train employees Demonstrate basic knowledge of Lean manufacturing

Supervisor #5 PM Dry End - Evadale, TX1913 FM 105 SEvadale, Texas, 77615United States Opportunity summary: As the Supervisor #5 Pm Dry End, you will be responsible for the personnel, safety, environmental impact, quality, cost, and performance for the in line coated board paper machine throughout his/her shift. As Supervisor #5 Pm Dry End, you will identify opportunities within the shift to improve performance and execution, coordinate and manage the quality/production efforts of the Paper Machine hourly team, and lead efforts to achieve key performance metrics that support overall mill goals. How you will impact WestRock: Manage the quality of the paper machine output, ensuring all product is within specifications and meets customer needs Model and promote safety within the shift by leading safety meetings, responding to potential hazards, coordinating with shift maintenance to correct hazards, performing safety audits, and partnering with advocates and safety leaders to support all safety program initiativesManage performance and downtime of Paper Machine by troubleshooting and preventing issues that could cause downtime or breaks and resolving issues in timely fashionWork with other salaried personnel to ensure equipment downtime is fully utilized and scheduled to optimize the maintenance work that can be performed while the machine is downPartner with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Planner to identify and prioritize maintenance work on the Paper MachineReview paper machine production and quality results on the mill’s database(s) dailyLead the accident/incident investigation for any incidents that occur in the departmentAssist with the review and approval of Engineering drawings and designs to prevent equipment and/or process conflictsUtilize the Paper Mill Department’s Standard Operating Procedures, Paper Machine Department’s General Operating Procedures, Operating Guidelines and Grade Recipe Assist with the review and identification of root causes for customer issue Supervise the Paper Machine hourly employees and ensure necessary training, development, and supportEstablish individual goals and evaluate work performance for direct reportsDevelop effective partnerships with plant hourly employees to improve overall plant productionAssist with the review and updating of department training material, specifically working with operators to coach them in the qualification process What you need to succeed: High School diploma or G.E.D.Must have minimum of 5 years of pulp/paper mill experience3+ years of direct supervisory experience on paper machines requiredExperience implementing safety initiativesProven track record of leadership and project management skills leveraged to enable employees to achieve goals and objectivesStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills leveraged to motivate stakeholders and achieve alignment across the organizationAbility to learn proprietary software programs Westrock Company Evadale TX
