Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of Project Management, the Supervising Project Manager assures the timely development and transmission of all educational publishing project deliverables according to the cost, quality, technical, and schedule expectations. At a project level, the Supervising Project Manager supports Content and Creative Managers and leads the project team in organizing, planning, scheduling, and delivering projects from start to finish. Additionally, the Supervising PM supports Benchmark's financial operations with timely and accurate reporting of the financial performance of individual projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Project Planning, Execution, and Control:
Collaborates with Content, Creative Managers and other cross functional teams to
determine project requirements for both print and digital.
ensure adherence to established project workflow and schedules both internally and between Benchmark and vendors.
guarantee successful transmission of project deliverables.
Serves as an integral point of contact for internal and external teams on all phases of project planning and execution.
Owns all aspects of project delivery, implementing Benchmark's best practices at all times.
Creates and maintains budgets, project status reports, and dashboards.
Team Management:
Leads a team in the production of print and digital components.
Communicates company-wide goals to the team.
Models leadership skills to positively influence the team to achieve results.
Mentors, trains, and monitors performance of the team routinely; creates performance evaluations at company-designated periods.
Financial Management:
Works closely with the publishing and cross-functional teams to create and monitor progress against budgets.
Briefs project teams regularly on performance against budgets.
Tracks and reviews all resource contracts and invoices.
Contributes ideas or preventative measures for maintaining financial performance in alignment with corporate goals.
Monitors the budgeted spend on assigned projects, calculating variance against project plan. Escalates budget risks to Director.

Actual timing of performance as compared to planned or scheduled delivery.
Effective communication of project performance information, identification of project blockers, and ability to solution risks to project delivery.
Job Requirements/Skills and Experience:
Ability to evaluate a content development and production path with quality, technical, schedule, and production considerations.
Ability to anticipate potential problems and issues within a project and suggest viable workarounds.
Ability to create and maintain documentation that communicates the various development workflow and production stages of a project.
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with Benchmark personnel at all levels; comfortably interact with senior management.
Ability to quickly analyze a problem and recommend actions based on sound judgment and common sense.
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously, maintaining quality and schedules on all.
Ability to convey thoughts, ideas, concepts, commitments, etc. to team members verbally and in writing.
Ability to learn new technologies.
Knowledge of digital development, print production, and desktop publishing.
Solid MS 365 & Excel skills. Smartsheet and Adobe Creative Cloud knowledge a plus.
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum of 5-years successful experience in an educational publishing coordination position or project management environment with experience dealing with difficult situations/projects, or the equivalent preferred.
Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000
