Description:

Slayden Constructors Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of MWH Constructors, is currently seeking a Superintendent to join our team at The Riverside Park Water Reclamation Facility NLT Project in Spokane, Washington.

The primary responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Supervise major work activities including site work, concrete, mechanical and process equipment installation.

  • Maintain safe conduct of Slayden employees and subcontractors to ensure a zero accident project. Ensure all site personnel meet minimum safety requirements (e.g. training, orientations, tools and equipment).

  • Solely represent Slayden on-site for meetings and discussions with clients, local agencies and subcontractors.

  • Plan and supervise employees and subcontractors' activities. Includes reviewing method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.

  • Coordinate assigned work with work of employees and different subcontractors.

  • Maintain liaison with engineering and project management to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.

  • Assist in resolving construction problems (e.g. lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.

  • Monitor employee and subcontractor compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.

  • Maintain liaison with other departments to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support subcontractors and project schedule.

  • Review employee and subcontractors' daily activity plans to assure that requisite personnel, equipment and supplies are in place to assure that the following days work will be conducted in a safe manner with minimal wasted effort.

  • Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of all site workers by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.

  • Inspect work to ensure quality and project specifications are met.

  • Perform additional assignments per project manager's direction.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience supervising/managing water/wastewater construction projects

  • Knowledge of all construction disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.)

  • Cost control, manpower planning and scheduling knowledge

  • Knowledge of computer systems and programs (MS Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Working understanding of CPM scheduling techniques

  • Ability to develop and maintain outstanding relations with Owner and subcontractors

  • Experience with Project closeout and punchlist management

Concrete, Trade Lead The Concrete Lead will act as a technical liaison for the project team and the trade team performing the installation. This person must be able to multitask and maintain a positive outlook in stressful situations. This will be a grass-root effort to put the division online in the region. This position will also be required to learn and grow new techniques and coordinate and manage crews onsite to ensure safe, high quality, and on time delivery. The Trade Lead will work with other construction managers and directors to plan and execute project schedules and staffing plans. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Coordinate trade teams between all of the active projects in the region and outside of the region with other Trade Coordinators. * Maintain responsibility for the concrete labor budget and schedule start up and progression on all projects in the region through coordination with site Project Management team. * Assist project engineer and team to coordinate all RFI's and change order documentation for submission on the project. * Be responsible for hiring all concrete labor in the region and ultimately responsible for maintaining proper manpower based on region specific manpower loading needs and assist to resolve issues that may arise. * Be responsible for acquiring and maintaining trade tools, equipment and project management for the region based on project loading and durations. * Report directly to the Trade Manager. * Attend all necessary meetings and submit all reports required by superiors and project teams. * Demonstrated commitment to diversity and learning including successfully working in multicultural environments Required Skills & Experience * A successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years in construction in a leadership role in the field * Proven track record of on-time performance and quality installation in multifamily construction environments * Ground-up multi-family experience * Interest and ability to train crews in the area of concrete.
