Training/Education

Special Requirements

  • This position performs tasks on the various construction sites, maintenance shops, apartments, apartment buildings and grounds. The majority of tasks are performed on the construction sites in all types of weather.

  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds

Essential Functions

  • Commences the project as directed and coordinates and schedules all work. It shall be his/her responsibility to establish with the Project Manager, General Superintendent, Vice President and President a critical path schedule that shall be approved by the Project Manager and Vice President of Construction.

  • Completes weekly progress reports based on the critical path schedule and these reports shall be completed and turned in every Friday for review by the Project Manager, Vice President of Construction.

  • Keeps a daily project log indicating work performed and weather conditions. Any material delays or rained out days must be logged.

  • Supervises earthwork, utilities, concrete, roads & walks, framing, plumbing roughs, electrical roughs, HVAC roughs, insulation, drywall hanging, drywall finishing, lightweight concrete, all exterior work and, in general, any and all work being completed by the subcontractors, vendors and suppliers as well as the Assistant Superintendent, Project Engineer on his/her project.

  • Schedules all labor, materials and inspections in order to meet the critical path schedule.

  • Writes a complete pre-drywall punch list and a final exterior punch list. The punch lists shall be given to each subcontractor and the Project Superintendent will check off punch lists as work is completed. A copy of the punch list shall be kept in the trailer for the review by the Project Manger, Vice President of Construction and by the Owners.

  • Reviews all subcontractors' invoices and approves invoices prior to the subcontractor's submission of invoices for payments. He/she shall have the authority to have all checks delivered to him/her for disbursement.

  • Hires and/or discharges laborers as needed. Follows contract guidelines during discharges in cases of subcontractor failing to perform and/or not meeting Buckingham Construction Corporations' quality standards. Notifies the Project Manager or Vice President of Construction immediately of subcontractor's failure so that a resolution can be made as quickly as possible.

  • Insures that curb appeal of the project is a priority, even during construction. Proper curb appeal includes keeping all materials neatly stacked and in order, keeping streets cleaned, keeping windows and doors shut, keeping all storage area doors shut and locked, general clean-up of debris of the site construction storage areas, adjoining properties and a neat, clean and organized office trailer.

  • Works closely together with the Assistant Superintendent, giving the Assistant Superintendent units that are on schedule and to generally oversee his/her assistant's work scope.

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Superintendent/Punch out as needed.

  • Safety is a priority for Buckingham Construction Corporation. As such, we expect you to maintain a safe working environment for fellow employees, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers and clients as well as a safe living environment for residents. He/she shall comply with all OSHA and environmental safety standards. He/she shall provide basic and work area specific training for all subordinates on the Hazard Communication Program. He/she shall train all employees on how to read the Material Safety Data Sheets. He/she will assure that proper training and safety measures are established prior to the use of new or existing products. The Project Superintendent shall train all subordinates in the emergency procedure to be taken should an accident occur. Completions of forms are to be filled out at the time of any on-the-job injuries, should they occur.

  • Represents Buckingham Construction Corporation in a positive manner to subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, residents, customer, client and the community.

  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary by The Project Manager, Vice President of Construction or President of Construction.
