Sundt Construction Commercial Building Group is growing and looking to hire a Superintendent for UC Santa Barbara. We are a 128 years old general contractor and 100% employee owned.

Superintendent manages day-to-day construction activities, including supervision of craft employees and subcontractors. Schedules field activities in coordination with the project schedule.

Is responsible for safety, production goals, quality control, and cost control. May supervise one or more craft groups and/or scopes of work.

1.Supervises staff, including: establishing and communicating performance expectations, providing positive and constructive feedback, determining training and development needs, and conducting on-the-job training. May conduct Individual Development Reviews. May make hiring, discipline, and/or termination decisions.
2.Enforces the project schedule. Prepares and maintains a detailed schedule for specific areas of responsibility which relate to the project schedule. Prepares any other incremental schedules as required for the successful completion of the work.
3.Uses available reports to manage cost and promote construction efficiency. Understands the Monthly Progress Report.
4.Assists with or manages the implementation of LEAN planning.
5.Assists with or conducts subcontractor meetings.
6.Assists in or conducts review of shop drawings and design conflicts along with RFI review and implementation and manages Quality Control and Safety responsibilities as well as subcontractor coordination and oversight.
7.Reviews the following for proper preparation and coding: Time Sheets, Quantity reporting, and daily costs. Completes all recording requirements in a timely and accurate manner, consistent with established operations procedures.
8.Oversees, directs, and coordinates manpower, equipment, material, and subcontract activities in accordance with the project schedule.
9.Assists in or manages the selection of equipment, construction methods, and sequencing of operations.

1.Minimum of two years supervisory experience in similar construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures required.
2.Understanding of construction scheduling and cost control and the ability to control and supervise employees and subcontractors is essential.
3.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements
1.Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
2.Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
3.Will lift, push or pull objects on an occasional basis
4.Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
5.Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
6.May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
7.May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
8.Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
9.Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day
10. May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors

WHAT YOU'LL DO ALL DAY: The Compensation Manager will make big contributions to the development and administration of AppFolio's Rewards programs. Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards, this position will design and administer compensation programs, as well as be contribute to the evolution of our Benefits programs and upgrading of our HR systems. This role also contributes to the development of our evolving Total Rewards strategy. * Lead the implementation and administration of our compensation programs / processes, including: annually analyzing our ranges to keep us competitive, and managing job evaluations and reporting. Provide input into pay decisions and design recommendations based on your research and experience. * Working hand in hand with our HRBP and Talent Acquisition teams, act as a valued and trusted partner in providing market analysis, information and pay recommendations consistent with our practices and compensation frameworks. * Act as the primary contact to our Finance and Accounting teams, including Payroll. Experience with SOX is a plus. * Project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to navigate in a fast-paced & performance-oriented environment, and a proven track record leading successful compensation and benefits initiatives and projects. * Understanding of the Finance & Accounting functions, and have worked to develop budget projections/inputs, feed and maintenance of HR data to their systems (such as benefit deductions and taxation to Payroll), and building organizational hierarchies in an HRIS. * Must be proficient in Human Resource Information Systems. Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is a plus.
