Summary of Job: Responsible for providing leadership and management support within the Operations departments at Hurricane Harbor Rockford, to ensure delivery of positive guest experiences through friendly, clean, fast, and safe service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the day to day operations of all waterpark operations including Aquatics, Park Services, Guest Services, Human Resources, and Safety.

  • Provides supervision, training, development, and evaluation of seasonal supervisors and team members.

  • Oversees the hiring and onboarding of all team members.

  • Ensures teams are proactively guest friendly and that the guest mantra standards are followed and enforced.

  • Handles guest concerns and responds to guest comments.

  • Ensures that all park areas, including but not limited to, restrooms, team member break areas, and patios maintain a standard of excellence for cleanliness throughout the season.

  • Motivates teams to provide fast and friendly service to all guests.

  • Ensures compliance with safety standards and inspections.

  • Ensures all training requirements, testing procedures, and operation of the park are adhered to as set forth by Jeff Ellis and Associates, Six Flags policies and procedures, and Illinois Department of Public Health standards.

  • Maintains and updates standard operating procedures, training materials, and safety signage.

  • Works closely with Maintenance to minimize attraction downtime and maximize safety and rider throughput on all rides and attractions.

  • Serves as Manager on Duty during park operation.

  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years supervisory experience preferred in the area of park operations.

  • Aquatics or Safety background preferred.

  • Jeff Ellis and Associates Instructor certification preferred (may be obtained after hire).

  • Excellent administrative skills, including organization, budget control, and time management.

  • Strong communication skills, computer proficiency, and creative thinker.

  • Ability to handle multiple situations simultaneously and meet deadlines in an efficient manner.

  • Excellent motivational, leadership, and team-building skills.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when needed.

  • Must be able to report to duty as needed, with limited notice during situations such as inclement weather preparation/recovery.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk the park on a continual basis, and work outside in varying weather conditions.

  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.

  • High School diploma required and some college preferred.

Other Functions: All other duties assigned or necessary to support the park as a whole.
