JOB SUMMARY Manages delivery of health care services to accomplish diagnosis and treatment. Exercises professional judgment in performance of duties and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics.# Monitor clinical laboratory operations to assure compliance with governmental regulations and meets standards established by accrediting agencies.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties: Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the laboratory dept. to which assigned (e.g. Microbiology, Cytology, Phlebotomy, etc.) Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws and is responsible for managing subordinates.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training team members, planning, scheduling, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining teams members; addressing complaints and resolving problems Attends all customer relations meetings, guaranteed patient satisfaction and mandatory training programs Serves as an administrative liaison and represents the department regarding institutional meetings, activities, external agencies and organizations Reports on departmental progress, budget variances, productivity, objectives and operational issues. Regularly meeting with Laboratory Director to discuss laboratory services and operations Maintains compliance with CAP (College of American Pathologists) EDUCATION/LICENSE/#CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS Minimum requirement: Microbiology # Bachelor of Science degree or higher and BB (ASCP) certification Blood Bank # Bachelor of Science degree or higher and M (ASCP) certification Histology # Bachelor of Science degree or higher and HTL certification Cytology

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher and CG (ASCP) certification Phlebotomy

• Associate of Science degree or higher and PBT (ASCP) certification Maintains active professional technician certification Preferred qualifications: NA WORKING ENVIRONMENT Operates in a professional medical laboratory and office environments Regularly works near moving mechanical parts Regularly exposed to blood and/or body fluids and infection.# Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals Occasionally exposed to risk of radiation The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.# PHYSICAL DEMANDS Occasionally required to maintain a stationary position (standing or sitting). Frequently required to walk and move about.
  
  Frequently required to operate a computer and other equipment. Frequently required to use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices.
