SUMMARY:
The Facilities Supervisor ensures that the hospital and associated buildings function in reliable, efficient and code compliant manner. The Supervisor also makes sure that all hospital maintenance staff and contractors perform their job duties as expected.
Requirements:
Education: Associate degree strongly preferred.
License: A valid Driver's license.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in facilities maintenance with at least 2 of those years in a Supervisory role.
Reports To (title):Manager of Facilities
Job Provides Direction to (title):General Mechanics, Skilled Mechanics, HVAC Mechanic, Lead Mechanic, and Electrician.
Job Duties
1.Develops daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules for Preventative Maintenance, Corrective maintenance, and project work. Ensures the work is done in a timely and professional manner. Monitor the schedule of the maintenance personnel.
2.Work with Manager of Plant Services in keeping building in compliance with all regulatory agencies including TJC, NFPA, OSHA, DEC, EPA, etc. Has knowledge of departmental and hospital policies.
3.Maintains the existing inventory of parts and equipment and orders new equipment as needed.
4.Perform additional responsibilities and duties as necessary.
5.Oversee Grounds maintenance and snow removal. Use contracted and in house staff as needed.
6.Work with the Manager to oversee construction, renovation, and or demolition projects as needed.
7.Rounds through the building to identify potential issues with the building systems prior to failure. Also identifies areas that need repairs and schedules the repair.
8.Help troubleshoot all building related systems. Use whatever resources both in house and contracted to keep all systems running as designed.
9.Attend EOC and Emergency Management meetings and all other meetings as assigned.
General Safety:
Makes sure that work or project areas are in a safe condition.
Ensures staff use proper body mechanics.
Ensures staff use the proper PPE when required.
Follows all IC Guidelines, works safely around patients and visitors, and follows environmental safety practices.
Ensures a safe and efficient working environment for the department and all patients, staff and visitors.
