Summer Technology Worker

At the present time, three Summer Technology Worker positions exist within the Innovative Educational Services Division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit.

The CCIU is a dynamic educational service agency providing quality, innovative and cost-effective programs and services to enhance the lives of students, educators and members of our communities.

The CCIU provides services to the 12 school districts in Chester County. This includes services to nearly 86,000 public and non-public school students and over 6,000 educators. The Chester County Intermediate Unit is one of 29 regional educational agencies established by law in Pennsylvania in 1971. Working between the Pennsylvania State Department of Education and the local school districts, the Intermediate Unit's mission is to provide services that can be offered most economically at the regional level.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license preferred.

• Current police, child abuse & FBI fingerprint clearances required if 18 years of age or older.

• Current high school student or beyond.

• Ability to apply sound judgment to resolve conflicts and solve problems.

• Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the school community.

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs up to a height of 4 feet occasionally.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work at the direction of other Innovative Education Services employees to troubleshoot and configure network infrastructure.

• Must be able to carefully follow written directions to perform technology support work on computers and other technological items, asking questions as needed.

• Must be able to document the progress of work using paper and online checklists.

• Protect the confidentiality of users, customers and organization data.

• Must follow department customer service standards.

• Must be an independent and reliable worker.

• Demonstrate adequate communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Report and be accountable to the Assistant Director of Innovative Educational Services or the assigned designee.

• Must be able to perform duties as well and carefully the first time as the last time.

• Respond to questions on work to peers and supervisors.

• Effectively diagnose and troubleshoot malfunction of computer or network devices relating to user error, faulty hardware, or software/server/network issues.

• Configure applications, system software, hardware, and local peripherals; diagnose and resolve various equipment problems.

• Work under direct and frequent supervision while performing routine duties using established procedures with detailed instructions.

Hourly Rate:

$14.00 an hour
