The Sultan School District is one of the larger geographical school districts in the Puget Sound area, consisting of approximately 325 square miles. Sultan School District has approximately 2,000 students enrolled K-12. Students are currently served by two elementary schools, a middle school, a high school and an alternative high school; and the Sno-Isle Skills Center, a cooperative vocational technical school.

Located northeast of Seattle (seven miles east of Monroe) or about 20 minutes from the Woodinville area, Sultan is surrounded by a beautiful environmental setting. Our "backyard" is the scenic Skykomish River and Cascade Mountains. Sultan School District includes the community of Sultan, Startup, and Gold Bar. Students from Index attend Sultan High School.

Job Summary:

The Sultan School District seeks applicants for a summer technology assistant position. The successful candidates will provide extra support to the technology department to complete summer projects. The successful candidates will work with a dedicated staff committed to meeting the needs of the district.

Essential Job Functions:

This list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Depending upon individual assignment, the employee may perform all or a combination of several of the following duties:

• Troubleshoots and resolves minor hardware and software configuration problems.

• Distributes and installs technology equipment.

MENTAL and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to think logically and analytically.

• May be required to concentrate for long periods of time.

• Requires crawling, reaching, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

• May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and electrical currents.

• May be required to work on a ladder.

• Required to lift and carry heavy supplies, materials and equipment.

POSITION MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of basic computer installation

• Knowledge of basic software and hardware trouble shooting.

• Installation of peripherals and software applications in a multi-user environment.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

• Ability to coordinate and meet schedules, assignments and timelines.

• Ability to perform duties with initiative, resourcefulness and little supervision.

• Ability to perform duties with awareness of district requirements.

• Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of others.

EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, FORMAL TRAINING:

• High School Diploma

• Priority to current employees

• Valid Washington State driver's license.
