Student Support Summer Programming Teacher
Starts August 5, 2024; Ends August 22, 2024 (Grant funded position)
HOURS/DAYS: 8:30am-12:30pm, Monday
Hourly Wage: Commensurate with experience and the 2023-2024 CEA Salary Schedule

General Description: The teacher assumes responsibility for the education of students assigned to him/her in accordance with state and federal guidelines, Board policy and procedure, and the district Mission Statement. The position involves working as part of a team to develop services for students in coordination with the program coordinator.
Essential Job Functions:
Serve as lead teacher for summer programming for students identified as needing additional support in academics.
Plan, develop, and implement curriculum for students
Keep continuous measurement data on student progress.
Work with program staff to develop positive inclusive opportunities for all students.
Provide supervision and direction for the paraeducator.
Interact positively with students, staff and other stakeholders of the school district.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
have a valid and appropriate Washington State teaching certificate;
meet the highly qualified teacher requirements of the federal No Child Left Behind Act;
have experience working with students;
possess diagnostic testing skills, show evidence of successful progress monitoring, and demonstrate knowledge and application of data-driven instructional interventions;
understand current state and federal laws pertaining to the education of students with disabilities;
have a working knowledge of common core standards and grade-level expectations;
have current immunizations;
have a demonstrated ability to communicate and work well with others
have a helpful, calm, friendly, and polite manner when interacting with students, parents and school staff;
have the ability to work independently and cooperatively and to make reasoned decisions;
have appropriate discretion concerning students, staff, and confidential or privileged information.
Working Conditions:
Works in a classroom, frequently moving, standing, crouching, kneeling, squatting to interact with students.
Moves within the school and occasionally between school locations.
Uses a computer while seated to maintain required notes and to access student information.
