EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER FOR ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL - PURDY ELEMENTARY

The Summer School Teacher will plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM DETAILS:

  • Summer School will be held at Purdy Elementary

  • Stipend Position

  • Schedule: Monday

  • Thursday 9:00 am

  • 12:00 pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Washington State Certificate* with K-12 Special Education endorsement required and Early Childhood endorsement preferred.

  • Teachers with multiple certificate endorsements are preferred.

  • Teachers holding or pursuing National Board Certification preferred.

  • Teachers with Special Education endorsement desired.

  • Expertise in reading strategies and instruction; reading in the content area.

  • Successful teaching or student teaching experience.

  • Knowledge of, and experience, teaching standards-based curriculum.

  • Strong classroom management skills.

  • Strong communication skills and flexibility.

  • Understanding of current state-adopted standards appropriated to the position growth.

Benefits

Upon hire, Employee will be eligible to earn sick leave. This position is not projected to meet the six hundred thirty hours of employment in a school year for SEBB benefits.
