Summer School Curriculum Leaders Job Responsibilities
Oversee and support the implementation of the K-4 Summer School Academic Program in the hosted summer school site
Plan, coordinate, and support day(s) before the start of the summer school program to allow teachers to set up their classrooms
Establish and maintain a summer school curriculum room
Unpack and inventory pallets of summer school materials
Establish a system for signing out and returning curriculum materials (including but not limited to: LitCamp Libraries, Listening Centers, Phonics Kits, Hand 2 Mind math manipulatives, etc) for all teachers to follow to ensure the maintenance of materials
Monitor fidelity to summer school curriculum by conducting classroom walk-throughs and establish a line of communication with Curriculum Instructional Lead to address any teacher/paraprofessional/student worker needs
Support classroom implementation by providing coaching supports and curriculum meetings to support classroom instruction
Responsible for all summer school supplies and materials and fill any requests as needed
Inventory, collect, and organize all summer school curriculum materials according to Literacy and Math checklists at program end
Prepare pallets for material pick-up from summer school site
Plan and implement a parent/caregiver Open House with emphasis on student work and student progress
Provide support to the Building Leader in order to ensure daily operations
be present before and after summer school session to ensure the safety of all summer school students and summer school staff to include transportation issues, parent/caregiver pick-up and sign-out
coordinate breakfast and lunch waves and establish routines and procedures to facilitate transitions with minimum loss of instructional time
coordinate times for outside program partnerships (e.g., Little Scientists, etc …)
support the management of attendance of summer school students
manage attendance of summer school staff (sign-in/sign-out)
establish a system for weekly communication with parents/families to highlight site activities and learning experiences (i.e. newsletters)
Requirements: Teacher Certification and/or 092 Certification or eligible. Must currently be employed by NHPS
Compensation: $32 per hour
