If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Teacher in the Summer Credit Recovery Program at University Prep Schools!
The Summer Credit Recovery Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering rigorous literacy and math lessons that target high-priority standards based on demonstrated needs from summer pre-assessments .The teacher is responsible for progress monitoring standards mastery over the course of the summer term and reporting change in growth and proficiency on the post-assessment.
As a Teacher in the Credit Recovery Program, you will play a crucial role in supporting students who need to make up credits to stay on track for graduation. You will work closely with students to help them master essential concepts, catch up on missed coursework, and build the skills they need to succeed academically.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish classroom procedures to maintain a safe and focused learning environment.
Use data to plan and deliver rigorous standards-aligned lessons; progress monitor student outcomes.
Engage in coaching cycles with the Summer Director
Report daily attendance and work with the Summer Director to remediate attendance concerns..
Inventory and requisition individual classroom equipment, supplies, and textbooks, as needed.
Attend weekly summer school staff meetings as needed.
Handle discipline issues as needed in a restorative manner; solicit the assistance of the Summer Director as needed.
Report the grades and progress (growth and proficiency) achieved by summer school students.
Monitor cafeteria culture and behavior during breakfast and lunch.
Other duties as assigned by the Home Office and/or designee.
Signing Bonus: $1,000
Stipend: $7,500
Attendance Bonus: $1,000
Potential Total Compensation: $9,500 (paid in two installments July 31 and August 15)

Work hours: Monday
Friday 8:30 a.m.
1:30 p.m.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
State teaching certification or licensure.
Experience teaching in a high school setting, preferably in a credit recovery program or alternative education setting.
Successful experience as a classroom teacher with evidence of strong academic outcomes on vetted local and state assessments in ELA and/or math.
Strong knowledge of subject matter and curriculum standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
