NOTE ONLY THREE SITES AVAILABLE FOR 2023 ^ Daily rate $385.87. / $53.22 per hour IMPORTANT: APPLICATION Screening begins Friday, June 14th DESCRIPTION: Alameda County Office of Education provides instruction for county youth needing alternative placements. From community schools to the Butler Academic Center at juvenile hall, county teachers are charged with reaching youth with high levels of educational and behavioral need. Our programs are listed below: - Butler Academic Center and Camp Sweeney: General and/or Special Education classrooms serving incarcerated youth grades 7 through 12 while in detention at the Juvenile Justice Center.
QUALIFICATIONS & CREDENTIAL INFORMATION: Juvenile Court Programs
You must possess a valid California Elementary or Single subject Teaching credential based on a bachelor's degree. Infant Program
You must possess a valid California Special Education credential, Early Childhood Specialist credential, or Early Childhood Special Education certificate; or a Basic California Elementary or Secondary teaching credential with a willingness to apply for an Early Childhood Specialist permit, Physical and Health Impairments credential, or Early Childhood Specialist certificate. DESIREABLE: Previous experience in Juvenile Court & Community Schools NOTE: Some teachers may be asked to participate on Classroom Set-up Day, June 28, 2024 from 8:30 a.m.
1:30 p.m. (5 hrs. total, does not include lunch) Work hours will be 7.25 hrs/day at the Juvenile Court Schools. All summer school teachers are expected to teach for their entire contracted time.
