POSITION: Summer Program Intern (UNPAID)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Summer Program Intern (UNPAID) will assist the Summer Program Coordinator launch the 2020 ACHIEVE Summer Program. After Summer Program begins the intern will get the opportunity to work with other programs under FSS, duties include but not limited to:
Receiving student applications and maintaining student database.
Review and record students medical, physical and behavioral issues. Communicate with program coordinator any concerns.
Create student files for program site, including all of the above mentioned notes for Program Director, Nurse and Program Counselors.
Track incomplete applications for missing documentation.
Communicate with Medicaid Service Coordinators, parents, and school district special education departments to obtain missing documentation.
Prepare lists for BOCES food service program and schools transportation department for student counts.
Mail program acceptance letters to families once completed applications have been approved by the Program Coordinator.
Review grant tuition applications to verify income and residency requirements are met. Prepare demographic reports.
Work with the Director of Family Support Services on other programs within FSS, including Community Habilitation, Family Empowerment Program, and Recreation Respite.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
Summer Program position is for seven weeks.
Week 1: 6/29/2020 7/1/2020 (Orientation Training) 8:30 am 2:30 pm
Week 2-6: 7/6/2020 8/13/2020 (Program) Monday Thursday, 8:15 am 2:45 pm
