Summer Office Clerk

POSITION AVAILABLE ONLY TO CANDIDATES WITH EMPLOYEE REFERRAL!

Purpose of Position:

Summer Work Program - part-time or full-time, temporary position(s) exclusively available for children of current Word & Brown employees. Under supervision, performs a wide range of duties relative to assigned projects for various departments throughout the Word & Brown Companies.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform clerical, administrative, front office, back office, customer service, and other tasks and projects as directed by various managers as assigned by Human Resources.

May include, but are not limited to:

• Fill in for absent employees where needed throughout the company.

• Sort, file, and scan forms, correspondence, and documents.

• Compile reports and review for discrepancies.

• Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and Visio diagrams

• Edit and convert Adobe documents

• Verify and accurately input data into company databases.

• Answer and follow up on incoming telephone calls from customers and brokers.

• Compose and mail or email routine correspondence.

• Reorganize files and/or file room.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be the child of a current Word & Brown employee between the ages of 17 and 22.

• Must have a valid work permit if under 18.

• Ability to type at least 35 words per minute, capable of filing, use office equipment including printer, photocopier, phone, scanner, fax machine, and 10-key.

• Must have general computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Must have excellent customer service skills, and the ability to multitask; able to communicate effectively in English.

• Ability to lift to 20 lbs, walk, stand and sit for extended periods of time. Willingness to learn, adapt, be flexible and demonstrate strong customer service skills. Requires good attendance and punctuality.
