Opportunities Available

As a Marketing intern at Stryker, you will be placed in one of the following teams:

Downstream Marketing

  • Participate in key commercialization activities such as developing campaigns, messaging, and positioning

  • Gain field experience with sales members and surgeons operating in the US

  • Gather customer insights to aid in the creation and validation of various statements, campaigns and commercial models in order to help achieve results

  • Learn and practice the Big Picture Marketing framework in order to build structure to marketing activities into the future

Upstream Marketing

  • Participate in product development activities and strategic marketing initiatives in order to build the future of Stryker products

  • Manage projects between R&D, Marketing, and customer insights to help make decisions that align with customer needs

  • Learn and practice the Big Picture Marketing framework in order to build structure to marketing activities into the future

Marketing Communications

  • Partner with internal and external entities to develop marketing collateral to be used in customer-facing interactions

  • Ensure brand consistent company and product messaging and accessibility to communication efforts for product launches to deliver results

  • Assist in the implementation and execution of Stryker's communication strategy, including web, advertising, direct marketing and sales force communication efforts to drive our business

  • Assist in implementation and execution of all trade shows and sales meetings to engage our external customers and internal team

What You Need

  • Currently working on completion of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field or equivalent; we will only consider students who plan be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer

  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; must be the case at the date of hire and also will be verified during background check in the spring

  • Must be permanent resident of the U.S. or U.S. citizen

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow

  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment

  • Proficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills

  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills

POSSIBLE INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY AREAS: Software Development Experience or interest in developing UI components or building APIs. Preferred skills include knowledge of application technologies such as: WPF, MVVM, Windows Forms, SQL Server, DB2, Spring Boot, Vue.JS, React, Redux, C#, Java, VB.NET, ASP.NET, IIS, XAML, etc. You will be participating in working on an in-house application, either testing, providing UI feedback, and developing user interface components or developing an API. Business Analyst Analyze clients' existing systems and business models, document business process flows, map and document interfaces between legacy and new applications, translate business needs into requirements, and identify options for potential solutions while assessing both technical and business suitability. Experience or interest in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), MS Office suite and Visio. Data and Reporting Analyst Experience or interest in relational databases, business intelligence tools, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), data analysis, data governance, data mapping, data dictionary work, knowledge of Jira, Confluence and Tableau. Production Support Experience or interest in problem solving and a creative analytical thinker who is self-driven and likes working in a fast-paced environment. Preferred technical knowledge and experience with RedHat/Linux platform technologies. Ideal candidate would have a basic understanding of SQL and HTML, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong experience in Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint required. Quality Assurance / Software Automation & Performance Testing Experience or interest in developing automated and performance tests. Our DevOps pipeline utilizes Git, Jenkins, Urban Code & Ansible tower to deliver code to all of our environment What do you need to succeed? In selecting interns, we look for the following: * Current Sophomore, Junior or Senior (Graduation dates between 2021 - May 2023) at an accredited college or university with a degree granted or expected in Software Engineering or Development, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or another technology-related discipline. * Working knowledge of IT applications, software and systems * Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment * Strong technical, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills * An interest in financial services industry * Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the program (June to August) The 2021 program is based in Minneapolis, MN and will be June 7th - August 20th.
