Reports to: Site Supervisor

Status: Non-Exempt

Compensation: $20/hr

Job Summary:

The Summer Intern will be required to work with Technicians to maintain hydro facilities and at times be asked to work by themselves as needed. The Summer Intern will participate in daily activities associated with the safe and reliable operation of the plant including but not limited to supporting preventative maintenance routines, supporting startup and shutdown activities, and supporting environmental compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understand and adhere to all plant safety guidelines and procedures while striving to maintain an injury-free environment.

• Participate in daily activities associated with the safe and reliable operation of the plant including but not limited to supporting preventative maintenance routines, supporting startup and shutdown activities, and supporting environmental compliance.

• Work activities may include preparation of reports, calculations, specifications, and scope documents as well as generating sketches and drawings.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

• Assist with assigned projects.

• Perform site and equipment cleanup on an ongoing basis.

Job Requirements:

• Must know how to work mechanical hand tools and power tools.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work as part of a team.

• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• Strong attention to detail

• Willingness to work overtime when required.

• Able and willing to drive personal vehicles to various site locations.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs and ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear, or smell.

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. This could include working in extreme heat or extreme cold conditions.

• The noise level in the environment is usually loud and requires the use of PPE.

Education / Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Must have knowledge in Safety and Health Awareness.
