Nature and Scope
Summer internship working with I.T. Web Development Team. Assist with writing custom HTML, PHP, CSS and JavaScript for existing websites and applications. Design, recommend and pitch improvements to new and existing features. Assist in troubleshooting issues on web-based systems. Update and edit website content, posts and pages.
This internship program will require you to work in our Shirley, NY office 5 days per week, working 40 hours per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support the WebDev Team in software, websites, and updates to systems as needed
Learn and understand Full Stack Development
Learn and understand Microsoft Visual Studio
Assist and update website html code to be web accessible compliant
Training and Learning of Web Servers and IIS (internet information systems)
Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management
Learn ServiceNow platform and service desk ticketing process
Research and resolve other issues reported by our customers and how to escalate issues to I.T. Staff
Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing as well as follow instructions
Eagerness and willingness to learn and apply new knowledge
Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.
Education Requirements and Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Web Design or Emerging Media College computer science, Engineering or a related technical field.
Basic understanding of a Microsoft Windows environment
Basic or Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or O365 platform helpful
Good understanding of Websites, technology and how they work
Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio and/or the willingness to learn
Knowledge and Basic understanding HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Work and collaborate in a team environment
Must be detail oriented
Ability to seek out solutions independently
Must be able to read documents in Standard English such as Standard Operating Procedures, maintenance schedules and operating manuals.
Expected Hourly Rate:
$20.00 - $22.00
The hourly rate displayed is the minimum and maximum hourly rate of compensation for the role that the employer in good faith believes to be accurate at the time of the posting of an advertisement for the role.
