Summer Intern

Tokio Marine HCC - Surety Group, a member of the Tokio Marine Group of Companies, has an opportunity for a part-time Underwriting Intern at our Trevose, PA branch office.

We are looking for a college student who is interested in turning their educational studies into practical work experience while working alongside our surety contract and commercial underwriters.

Position Overview

The Intern will learn surety underwriting concepts while providing administrative support to our team of underwriters.

Performance Objectives

• Data Entry: Enter and verify information on proprietary software and database

• Underwriter Support: Accurately set up files within expected timeframes while adhering to established standards, gather financial information

• Finance: Learn preliminary credit and financial analysis, verify credit

• Broker Communication: billing, process status inquiries

Expectations

Within the first month and on an ongoing basis:

• Become familiar with TMHCC Surety Group and what we do

• Understand file procedures, underwriting terms, data sources

• Understand TMHCC Surety Group operational systems

• Accurately and efficiently set up files, enter data, and accomplish other tasks to help our underwriters

• Increase skills and interest for a career in surety underwriting

Eligibility

• Working toward an undergraduate degree related to risk management, finance, economics, business or other related course of study

• GPA of 3.0 or greater

• Must have earned 60 credit hours

• Work consecutive weeks throughout the school term (e.g., quarter or semester)

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities

• Strong analytical skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Initiative and active contributor with activities

• Motivation to succeed
