The Electrical Engineering Summer Intern works under the direction of an engineer while learning about and executing electrical designs or analysis for power system projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conduct analytical studies and make analysis, interpretations, and conclusions under guidance and supervision.
Perform analytical studies, which includes modeling of electrical power systems.
Researching information related to the analysis being performed.
Utilizing computer software such as CYME, SKM, PSCAD, ETAP, ATP, EMTP-RV, PSS/E, PSLF to perform analytical studies.
Presenting findings and reports to both internal and external customers with results, conclusions, and recommendations.
Working alongside our customers to obtain clear and bounded scope of work.
Develop an understanding of the technical and commercial issues applicable to integration of renewable energy and smart grid technologies into electrical power systems.
Prepare reports and presentations for customers in a manner which enhances S&C's engineering reputation.
To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
Must be in good standing as a student at the Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. degree level at an accredited university majoring in an Electrical Engineering and returning to school full-time at the end of the internship.
Knowledge of Electrical Engineering fundamentals and theory with an emphasis on power engineering.
Good computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of and analytical software is a plus.
The ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
