We are looking for an intern to join the Enterprise Systems team as an Application Engineering Intern. In this role, you will support, maintain & enhance our custom applications which built area using Java, Python, Postgres technologies that drive our ad-Sales & revenue processes. This includes understanding current data model, performing enhancements to our Java, Python code or database performance, and working with internal customers to troubleshoot issues with these systems. Exciting opportunity to also learn and enhance platforms like SLACK.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain applications and databases by evaluating needs; analyzing requirements; developing software systems.
Excellent ability to explain technical issues to a variety of audiences such as enterprise architects, developers, business stakeholders & executives.
Enhance delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved process; mentoring team members.
Identify requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual clients and with other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
Arrange project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; preparing a functional description.
Develop a technical plan to implement the functional description; Implement the technical plan.
Confirm program operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or codes.
Write and maintain user documentation.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.
Protect operations by keeping information confidential. Follows SOX guidelines.
You must be 18 years of age or older.
Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.

Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Experience with python using one of the various Python Integrated Development Environments like IDLE, PyCharm, Atom, and Sublime Text
Knowledge of Web Services and API's in python.
Experience in using Design Patterns such as MVC and frameworks such as Django is good
Any RDBMS systems experience is a plus
Coding and debugging Java APIs. Contributes, and has open source examples available for review on Git, GitHub, Bit bucket, etc.
