  • The Gas Marketing Department has summer internship positions available at either the Houston Main Street or Dallas Westchester locations.

  • The main objective for the intern is to become familiar with the natural gas industry, gaining experience in the marketing of natural gas volumes as it relates to purchasing, transportation, and storage of natural gas.

  • Responsibilities will include working with the scheduling and marketing group to understand how gas is marketed and transported on the natural gas pipeline grid. Understanding of the basic principals in pricing natural gas in the market place as well as transportation and storage. Will help prepare spreadsheets and analyze market data to help traders to make informed decisions. Ability to work with various models to help assist traders and schedulers in the flow of natural gas.

  • General requirements include self-motivated individuals, involvement in activities outside college studies, above average GPA and willingness to travel.

  • The selections of engineering or business disciplines.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Preferably junior status as of Fall 2019

  • Strong computer and advanced Excel skills preferred

  • Must possess a strong willingness to learn

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be able to adapt well to rapidly changing priorities and responsibilities

  • Ability to organize, perform and prioritize various functions in a fast paced environment

  • Must be a team player, and able to work effectively with a diverse workforce and with various levels within the organization

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: * Enters data and creates reports in excel and databases that support compliance activities. * Prepares, organizes, distributes and/or files regulatory/compliance documents. * Reviews, researches and validates regulatory/compliance documents. * Researches assigned topics and prepares reports summarizing findings. * Analyzes records for consistency, takes steps to bring all records current, then files and/or records appropriately. * Provides support as requested. Education: Requires completion of sufficient college hours to be classified as a sophomore or higher pursuing a bachelor's degree in Economics, Political Science, Business, Engineering or related major at an accredited college or university. Able to participate in on-call activities and to be on-call at least one weekend per month and during various weekday evening hours to assist customers. Able to work scheduled overtime on a regular basis and unscheduled overtime as workload demands. Able to travel occasionally, possibly overnight, to pipeline and customer meetings and/or energy industry conferences. Able to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office, private office, or open-concept office environment. Able to adapt easily to changing work schedules.
