Summer Instructional Assistants - Migrant Education - Tchs Pennocks Bridge

At the present time, vacancies for part-time Instructional Assistants exist for an MEP school-based campus in Chester Coutny within the Migrant Education Program (MEP), Student Services Division of the CCIU. These positions will work with migrant children in Chester County for the duration of the summer only.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma, required

• Enrolled in college or some college, preferred

• Bilingual speaking, required (Spanish or Q'eqchi)

• Experience working with bilingual/bicultural students, preferred

• Experience working with preschool, elementary, middle and/or high school students, preferred

• Basic computer knowledge, preferred

• Must have Act 33 and 34 Clearances

• Must have Federal Criminal History record

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Assist with implementation of summer supplemental educational programs for preschool, elementary, middle and/or high school migrant students residing in in Philadelphia, Delaware, Montgomery, and Bucks counties.

2.Work with students one-on-one and in small groups to provide academic support

3.Assist with regular communication with Migrant Education Program staff and families

4.Attend summer in-service, family meetings, and weekly staff meetings

5.Support family involvement in the education of their children through translation/interpretation, information sharing, training, and referrals

• Thursday, 8:30 am

• 2:00 pm

Hourly rate (2023-2024 School Year):

The IA pay scale is broken down below for you to reference.

• 0 - 9 yrs experience = $16.54
• 10 - 13 yrs experience = $18.35
• 14 - 17 yrs experience = $20.16
• 18

• 21 yrs experience = $21.97

• 22

• 25 yrs experience = $23.78

• *Bachelor's degree is equivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale = $16.54
• *Master's degree is equivalent to 15 yrs experience on the scale = $20.16
