Horton, Inc., a global airflow industry leader in reliability, service and innovation has an opening for Summer Help positions work in our Britton, South Dakota location. The standard hours are day shift 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday-Friday and second shift 3:30pm to 2am Monday-Thursday, with overtime, as needed. Second shift will receive a $1.25 per hour shift premium.

Must have legal authorization to work in the United States. No H1B Work Visa sponsorship provided.

Position Summary of Summer Help Worker: Inspects components, assembles, paints, tests, packages and transports fan clutches and subassemblies to finished goods area.

Responsibilities

Summer Help Responsibility overview:

Performs assembly functions in all areas as directed by manager. Assembles and packages accessory parts or other small units using new parts.

1.1 Assembles various units, kits, accessory parts, subassemblies, hardware packets, valves, clutch packs etc. as directed by manager.

1.2 Collects parts and prepares for assembly a sufficient quantity of each to complete the number of units specified by the production schedule.

1.3 Assembles required units/accessories, following standard assembly procedures and checking continuously for quality.

1.4 Performs quality checks on small units per standard procedures and specifications.

1.5 Check continuity of valve.

1.6 Reads and comprehends blueprints and assembly drawings.

Packages and prepares units for shipment to customers.

2.1 Attaches all identifying labels and serial numbers. (If required)

2.2 Boxes finished small units and packs boxes per standard operating procedure.

2.3 Records finished goods information on the job sheet.

2.4 Uses hand cart/material handling equipment to move finished goods to the line assembly or shipping area and places in proper location.

2.5 Packs finished units per operating procedure.

Exhibits and performs basic personal computer functions in various software systems, including but not limited to:

3.1 Entering inspection production approvals as required.

3.2 Entering accurate productivity/efficiency data as required.

3.3 Using the business operating system, to check work queues, inventory levels, and other production related tasks.

3.4 Using the Horton "intranet" to access quality information, blueprints, safety information, and other production related information.

Reworks units which fail to pass quality control checks.

4.1 Disassembles units, which do not meet standards and replaces faulty components or corrects assembly errors.

Provides training in work methods, procedures, and work instructions to employees and temporary workers. Operates literature copy machines. Performs other duties as directed by manager.

Qualifications

Qualifications for Summer Help:

A high school diploma, or equivalent (GED), is desired but not required. Previous relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

General computer use is required in all positions. Attention to detail is a must!

Must have legal authorization to work in the United States. Relocation allowance may be provided if the individual has all of the necessary qualifications.
