Summer School Program

Assignment: Temporary

Anticipated start date: July 8, 2024

Anticipated end date: July 25, 2024

SVEA Professional Rate: $44.65 per hour

Schedule: Monday

  • Thursday; 8:30am

  • 11:00am

Friday: Not scheduled

Total weekly hours: 12

Number of positions to fill: Potentially multiple depending on student enrollment.

  • There will be a 0.5-hour paid meeting and 3-hour paid classroom setup time prior to start of summer school. Each teacher will be paid for 30-min of daily prep time per each session they teach; this can be adjusted if necessary.

Note: Summer school teachers can enroll their child(ren) at no cost.

Position includes Literacy Skills.

  • Assess initial skills

  • Target core skills through differentiation strategies

  • Provide a weekly progress report

  • Engage students for maximum use of time

Benefit Eligibility:

  • Insurance: This summer school position alone is not eligible for insurance. If combined with another position or assignment during the school year, including substituting, an employee anticipated to work at least 630 hours in a school year is eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.*

  • Retirement Plans: This position is eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.

  • Paid Holidays: This position is not eligible for paid holidays.

  • Paid Time Off: This position is not eligible for paid time off.

Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a year is eligible for benefits.
