Summer Cook - 2 Positions

Milton-Freewater Oregon is a multi-cultural community located in the northeast corner of the state within ten miles of Walla Walla Washington. The Milton-Freewater Unified School District is now taking applications for the following position:

Summer Cook

• 5.5 hours a day Monday

• Thursday (2 Positions)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to plan and direct the preparation of all school meals.
Ability to instruct and supervise employees and student helpers in their assigned tasks.
Ability to work in a cooperative, positive manner with students, staff, parents and community.
Knowledge of safe food handling and storage.
Knowledge of and ability to maintain district and state required records.
Knowledge and experience in appropriate methods of safe kitchen operations.
Knowledge of and ability to use current technology and food service related software.
Experience as summer or lead cook preferred.
Oregon State Food Handlers Card required.
Serve Safe, First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.
GED or high school diploma required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Including, but not limited to, constant moving about, including bending, stooping, reaching and kneeling. Employee must be able to lift up to 30 pounds frequently.

COMPENSATION:
The summer food service program will run 4 days a week, 6:30 am to 12:30 pm. This summer's program dates are for 35 days, from June 24, 2024 to August 15, 2024 (Off July 4). Salary $14.58 per hour for June and $15.30 per hour for July & August. for a 5.5-hour day.
