The primary purpose of this position is to conduct an ongoing evangelical ministry with the specific purpose of introducing all youth at the New York Temple Corps to Jesus Crist through the art of music.


  • Develop and maintain practical approaches to building solid Christian living among the children under your influence.

  • Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving in the group.

  • Develop opportunities for interaction between campers and staff.

  • Help prepare, set up and clean up for daily activities and meals.

  • Accompany and supervise the children during field trips.

  • Carry out established roles in enforcing camp safety regulations.

  • Assist in teaching or leading an activity as assigned.

  • Set a good example for campers and others including cleanliness, punctuality, table manners and sportsmanship.

  • Encourage respect for personal property, equipment and facilities.

  • Assist the Youth Associate with other tasks as given as a part of the summer staff program.


  • Must have experience with children's and youth ministry preferred.

  • Ability to accept supervision and guidance

  • Good character, integrity, adaptability, patience, self-control, self-motivated and well organized.

  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to prioritize responsibly and lead others.

  • Must have basic office skills including use of the computer.

  • Must have music ability in Brass Band, Theory, Vocal and other instrumental instruction.

VIEW JOBS 3/26/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-24T00:00 <p>Launch Math + Science Centers provide toddlers to tweens with inspiring math instruction and STEM-based camps and classes. The Camp Site Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a STEM camp site. Through a hands-on approach and an understanding of Launch programs, the Camp Site Manager will work to ensure that instructors are prepared and supported, and that Launch Camps are safe, fun, and enriching. </p><p>The Launch summer program consists of week long camps covering various STEM themes ranging from computer programming to engineering and chemistry. Camps are divided into three age groups: K-1st, 2nd to 4th grades, and 5th to 7th grades. Many of Launch's camps also have an outdoor component, generally in Central Park, where kids participate in filming, and math and science based activities. </p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul> <li>Supervise teams of instructors at one site</li> <li>Support, motivate, coach, and assess the performance of instructors </li> <li>Monitor staff conduct and participation</li> <li>Conduct staff meetings at least twice a week (Monday and Friday afternoons)</li> <li>Manage day-to-day operations (materials, daily schedule, facility, staffing, etc.) </li> <li>Perform all necessary day-to-day administrative duties including, but not limited to taking attendance, signing-in/out campers with approved guardians, filing any necessary incident reports</li> <li>Ensure the safe execution of all camp activities</li> <li>Provide frequent status updates for the Operations Manager and other senior management in the form of reports and verbal communications</li> <li>Act as main point of contact for all parents/guardians; address questions, concerns, and requests</li> <li>Perform periodic quality assurance reviews to ensure programs are running with efficiency and effectiveness</li> <li>Assist in leading new hire orientation for summer staff members (instructors)</li> <li>Be prepared to serve as an instructor for entry-level STEM camps as needed</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Clear and effective communicator</li> </ul><ul><li>Ability to employ sound problem-solving techniques</li></ul><ul><li>Exhibit team player skills</li></ul><ul><li>Minimum 3 years of experience working with children</li></ul><ul><li>Minimum 1 year of experience supervising staff</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to lead engaging, dynamic activities for campers</li></ul><ul><li>Inclusive, professional, and upbeat attitude</li></ul><ul><li>Comfortable with technology</li></ul><ul><li>Schedule availability that allows participation in camp training the week of June 8th, 2020</li></ul><ul><li>Camp experience preferred</li></ul><ul><li>CPR certification and First Aid training must be completed prior to the start of camp training</li></ul><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree required</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul> <li>Supportive Administrative team</li> <li>Excellent training resources</li> <li>Full time seasonal position</li> </ul><ul> <li>Multiple locations throughout the city</li> </ul> Launch Math & Science Centers New York NY
