Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Summer Camp Specialist for the Recreation department within the Division of Student Affairs. The summer camp is a 7-week program that averages around 115children a week, ranging from 5-11 years of age.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Assists the camp directors with the delivery and execution of the Summer Camp Program.

  • Supervises children providing a safe environment while modeling the appropriate behavior in accordance with the Rutgers University Protection of Minors Policy and Recreation Department Policies.

  • Supervises camp counselors.

  • Assists in administrative duties for camp.

  • Acts as a specialist in a specific area for camp.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Certifications/Licenses Preferred Qualifications

  • Up to 2 years + of relevant experience in an administrative function.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Good communication, interpersonal skills and computer literacy.

Immunization Requirements
