Job Description

SEASONAL SUMMER EMPLOYMENT

NO BENEFITS

Will be responsible for supervising children in a camp setting, as well as implementing safe, fun, age appropriate activities for campers ages 5-15. Administering discipline when appropriate and according to established guidelines.

The successful candidate will be able to work Monday through Friday, morning, afternoon and/or some evening shifts between 7am and 8pm, during the summer months through mid-August. May work weekends, holidays, and special events. Will perform physical work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

A successful applicant should have experience working with children in day camp, day care or teaching sports and/or arts and crafts. Must function independently, have excellent interpersonal skills, be detail oriented, be able to work under pressure and prioritize resources. Must be able to communicate effectively with parents and/or guardians.

Must have the ability to function in a team-oriented environment and the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of individuals. Must be physically and mentally capable of supervising a large group of children (1:16 ratio). Will be responsible for proper care and maintenance of facility and equipment. Must be able to administer first aid when necessary.

Must be 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED required. Pursuing a degree in Education, Physical Education, Exercise Science or other related field preferred but not required.

CPR, first aid and AED certification preferred, training provided if necessary.

Must pass background check and physical exam including a drug test and TB test.
