JOB TITLE: 9th Grade Bridge Program Teacher (4 teachers needed)

LOCATION: Sheridan High School

WORK YEAR: July 29, 2024- August 2, 2024 (8:00-2:00)

WORK STATUS: Licensed (valid Colorado License)

REPORTS TO: Sheridan High School's Administration Team

SALARY: $1250

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL TEACHING POSITIONS:

Required:

  • Teachers must hold a valid Colorado License

  • Teachers must have a proven track record (documentation) of increased student achievement in their classrooms

  • Bachelor's degree or higher required from an accredited university or college.

  • Hold authorization level appropriate for assignment.

KEY RESULT AREAS AND ATTENDANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Instructional Planning

  • Plan instruction consistently focused on priority standards in literacy and math for assigned subject area(s)/grade level(s).

  • Plan for personalized instruction.

  • Use formal and informal methods to assess the abilities and needs of students.

  • Plan effective use of class time.

  • Teach AVID WICOR strategies.

Instructional interaction (teaching)

  • Apply principles of teaching/learning to enhance student achievement.

  • Utilize teaching methods that are appropriate for the objectives and learners.

  • Modify instruction to meet student needs.

  • Communicate effectively with learners.

  • Provide for and maintain student involvement and engagement during instruction.

  • Create opportunities for team building and academic discourse.

Evaluation of instruction

  • Use the evaluation of student outcomes to measure the effectiveness of instruction.

Instructional management

  • Maintain necessary student records.

  • Responsible for assessing students' progress, analyzing results and planning appropriate instruction based on observations in order to meet individual needs of students in the classroom.

Learning Environment

  • Establish clear expectations for appropriate behavior.

  • Establish consequences for inappropriate behavior.

  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning that includes well-defined and clear processes and procedures that will allow students to achieve.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the code of ethics of the teaching professional of the State of Colorado.

  • Demonstrate a concern for students' health and safety.

General

  • Accept and fulfill assigned responsibilities and duties in a prompt and efficient manner.

  • Follow Board of Education policies, building procedures and any other rules, regulations or procedures that may be established by the District or Building administrations.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill regarding the components of effective instruction.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of content and teaching methods in area(s) of teaching assignment.

  • Demonstrated understanding and empathy necessary for working with students.

CLEARANCE:

Must clear background check through the CBI and the FBI through Fingerprint submission.
