Summer Band Program Teachers 2024

Applications will be accepted for music educator teaching positions for the grant funded Westfield Public Schools Band Program located at the Westfield Middle School. The grant funded program is scheduled to begin on July 29, 2024 and will run for 2 weeks through August 9, 2024. The program runs Mondays through Fridays; 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

PROGRAM INFORMATION:
2 weeks: July 29 - August 9, 2024
Teacher hours: 7:45 am - 12:15 pm (Student hours 8:00 - 12:00); Total hours not to exceed 45.

LOCATION: Westfield Middle School

REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator and Director of Curriculum

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide enrichment to students in a variety of musical contexts.
Provide identified students with small group instruction that addresses gaps/provides enrichment in their acquisition of knowledge and skills.
Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
Work collaboratively with teachers to plan and develop lessons and activities.
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Strive to develop positive relationships with students.
Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned day.
Keep accurate records of student attendance, student performance, and student work.
Provide student attendance data, student performance data, and student/parent surveys to coordinator on a timely basis.
Participate in professional development, as necessary/provided.
Assist coordinator with parent/guardian information by providing relevant student data/work as requested.
Other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Interventions and grants office.

SALARY:
$42.50 per hour with no benefits not to exceed 45 hours.
